What to Expect While Skydiving in Sydney
On Arrival
When you arrive for tandem skydiving in Sydney at the center, you will be introduced to the team. Before they take you for the skydiving session, you’ll go through a fitness evaluation test and sign all the required paperwork.
Your team will then take you through a training program that will also include all the necessary safety protocols to follow, and will answer any questions you might have.
The Training
Then you will be fitted into your gear and the instructors will lead you to the specially equipped plane. You will be tethered to your tandem jumpmaster when you ascend to 15,000 feet. The jumpmaster will manage and re-check the technical aspects of the jump, such as checking the harnesses to ensure that you have a stable jump.
The Jump
Once all is in place, gather your courage and jump out the door, freefalling at a speed of about 200 kilometers per hour with your tandem skydiving instructor. They will deploy the parachute after a minute or so, which will gradually slow your fall and allow you to float through the sky for 5-7 minutes. You will enjoy panoramic views of Sydney and the adjacent areas throughout this freefall. After this, your instructor will guide the descent and you will safely land back on base.

All individuals over the age of 12 years can go skydiving; however, those between the ages of 12 and 17 years will need to be accompanied by an adult.
Anyone weighing more than 110 kg will be assessed by a tandem master and approved by a Safety Officer; as a result, instructors may or may not allow skydiving. If the participant weighs more than 95 kg, there will be a surcharge. Any individual weighing up to 95 kg can go skydiving in Sydney.
You must also avoid skydiving for 24 hours if you have gone scuba diving previously.
Pregnant women and those with pre-existing conditions like epilepsy, heart disease, etc., must consult with their doctor before skydiving.
Clothing that is comfortable and casual, such as t-shirts, trousers and shorts, is ideal; Any jewelry and accessories need to be removed before the dive. Wear closed-toe shoes or sneakers as high heels or boots are not permitted. Please note that you will not be given any piece of clothing from Skydive Sydney facilities now due to safety reasons. So, if you plan to skydive during the cold season, carry a jacket and gloves.
You avoid heavy, greasy meals and at the same time avoid skydiving on an empty stomach. It’s best to have a light, healthy snack like a smoothie or a sandwich.
An important rule to note is that in the eight hours leading up to your skydive, you must not consume any drugs or alcohol.
The best time to be in Sydney for any outdoor activities is December to March. The skies are clear, the weather is warm, making it the perfect time for skydiving. However, if you want to avoid the crowd, it would be best to just shadow the summer season and opt for a November or March visit.
