De combinatie van bezoek van eilanden, bezoek van de st marks basiliek, en het dogepaleis en een gondeltocht is prima. Je bezoekt veel op 1 dag, verliest geen tijd met lange wachtrijen en je krijgt er heel veel informatie van een gids bovenop. De timing werd ook strikt gevolgd. De grootte van de groep was ook prima. Alleen was het voor ons ontgoochelend dat het bezoek aan de basiliek wat kort was en er GEEN bezoek aan de terrassen werd gebracht, niettegenstaande dat me dat werd verzekerd toen ik me voorafgaand informeerde om deze tour bij jullie te boeken. Ik had hiervoor contact met iemand via de chatbox op de website. Dus heb ik het gevoel dat ik enigzins toch niet volledig heb gekregen waarvoor ik dacht betaald te hebben...

The guide was excellent and everything was great until the end. When we went on our gondola ride we did not go by the bridge of sigh and the gondolier was on his phone the whole time. Not only was it bad enough that he was on the phone, he had it on speaker so we could hear the woman he was talking too. Missing out on the bridge and the phone ruined the entire experience.

The Tour Guy was the company we should have booked with - avoid Headout (a broker). The website on mobile when I booked put the wrong date - the Crowdsite glitch also happened and the site booked the tour time+day AFTER it already happened! HEADOUT REFUSED TO CHANGE IT! Luckily THE TOUR GUY CHANGED IT. AVOID HEADOUT. As for the tour, Venice is such a unique, magical place. Our guide was a lovely local Venetian, a professor-like lady and had tons of information - she was kind and very considerate. She gave us the basics of all we needed to know. I think we might have preferred a guide with more stories and less facts and who was a little more fluent in English - it was often hard to understand everything. Also, try avoid Italy in the summer, the heat is unbearable and we underestimated this. Bring lots of water and a fan or spray mist bottle. Crazy heat! Climate change not doing places like Rome and Venice any favours! The overall experience was the best it could've been, it was good.

Sehr gute Führung von Anba-Chiara im Pallazzo und der Kirche. Armbedeckung nicht vergessen, auch bis zu den Knien! Zwei Grupoen auf dem Boot nach Murano und Burano mit kompetenten Führunsleuten Kristina und S..., leider Namen vergessen. Natürlich auch mit Kaufanregungen, aber nicht aufdringlich. In Burano hatten wir beim Handwerk mehr erwartet. Es wäre schön, wenn Angebote mit Wirkshops verbunden wären. Sonst ein sehr gutes Angebot.

Wear walking shoes and bring along your water bottle. Sunscreen is also recommended in the summer.

What's not allowed

St. Mark's Basilica

Strict dress code: All guests must wear clothing that covers their shoulders and knees to enter the basilica.
Keep your camera tucked away – photography is strictly not allowed at the basilica.

Doge's Palace

Shutterbugs, take note: Flash photography, tripods, selfie sticks, and any type of commercial photography is a no-go inside the venue.

Accessibility

St. Mark's Basilica and Doge's Palace are both wheelchair and pram/stroller accessible.
The gondola ride is not accessible for wheelchair users.
