Very easy to use the tickets - I scanned the barcode at the barrier then we passed my phone between us so that each of us could scan our tickets. The chateau was spectacular from the opulent bedrooms to the little area where they set out what Napoleon's on-tour accommodation would have looked like. The cafe and toilets were clean but basic - the cafe tables were outside. We saw lots of couples having wedding photos taken which was cute. The grounds were beautiful.

Bucket-list things to do in Paris

Paris has long been an ideal place for globetrotters looking to check off some bucket-list experiences. The city is home to some of the most iconic bucket-list experiences, from the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, and the Louvre Museum to Notre Dame Cathedral, and the Palace of Versailles. Paris is also a food lover's paradise, with countless Michelin-starred restaurants and cafes serving delicious French cuisine. Whether you are looking for culture, history, or a good time, Paris has something to offer everyone.

Offbeat things to do in Paris

Paris is a city that's full of surprises. Move past Eiffel Tower and the Louvre to discover plenty of off-beat things to see and do. From hidden gardens and secret courtyards to quirky museums and underground bars, the city is full of surprises.
The Jardin des Plantes is one of Paris' best-kept secrets. This beautiful garden is home to over 10,000 species of plants, a zoo, a botanical museum, and a historic greenhouse.
The Catacombs of Paris are another fascinating attraction that most tourists miss. These underground tunnels were once used as a burial ground for millions of Parisians, and they now provide an interesting insight into the city's history.
If you're looking for a place to relax and enjoy some refreshments, head to one of Paris' many hidden gardens. The Jardin du Luxembourg and the Jardin des Tuileries are two of the most popular, but there are plenty of others to choose from. These tranquil green spaces are perfect for picnicking, people-watching, or simply taking a break from sightseeing.
If you are feeling tired of the city crowd, take a day or two off to go see the best of Loire Valley Castles

Nightlife in Paris

The City of Light comes alive after dark, and there are plenty of options for both night owls and early birds.
For those who like to stay up late, some of the most happening spots are the bars and clubs along the Seine River. The most famous among them are Twenty One Sound Bar, Castor Club, and 38 Riv Jazz Club. The quays are lined with lively establishments that offer a great view of the river. If you're looking for something a little more low-key, many charming cafes and bistros stay open late.
One of the most unique experiences in the shadows of the night is attending a cabaret in Paris. The song and dance performance by the best in-town dancers in soft lighting is an experience of a lifetime. Le Moulin Rouge is the oldest and the city's favorite performance to watch.
For those who prefer an earlier night, there are plenty of romantic options. A stroll along the banks of the Seine is a quintessential Parisian experience, and it's even more magical at night. You can also take in the city's stunning architecture by taking a nighttime tour of some of its most famous landmarks, like the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame Cathedral.

Shopping in Paris

Shopping in Paris is an experience not to be missed. The city is home to some of the most iconic fashion brands in the world, and shopping here is a truly unique experience. From high-end designer boutiques to quaint vintage stores, Paris is home to a wide variety of things and calls itself home to retail therapy.
Some must-buys when shopping in Paris include perfumes, Laduree macarons, and Pierre Hermé chocolates. For the best shopping experience, head to the famous fashion districts of Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré or Avenue Montaigne. Alternatively, explore the charming boutiques of Le Marais or Canal St-Martin.

Kid-friendly things to do in Paris

Some of the most famous attractions in Paris for children are the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Louvre Museum, and Disneyland Paris. Of course, there are also plenty of parks and green spaces to enjoy, such as the Luxembourg Gardens and the Tuileries Garden. French cafes are always around the corner and offer children exciting chocolate recipes.
For something truly unique, consider a ride on the Bateaux Mouches river boats or a visit to the Pere Lachaise cemetery. Paris is also home to numerous kid-friendly museums, such as the Museum of Natural History and the Carnavalet Museum.

Budget things to do in Paris

Whether you're looking to explore the city's famous museums or simply take in the sights, there's plenty to keep you entertained without spending a fortune.

Explore Place des Vosges, a beautiful square that is located in the historic Marais district, and is one of the most charming places in Paris.

Romantic things to do in Paris

It’s hard not to fall in love in Paris – and with Paris. Romance is always in the air in the City of Love and it’s the perfect destination if you’re planning a visit with your partner.
You’ll be spoilt for choice; take a wonderful Seine River Cruise at sunset and feast on a delicious French meal, sip a glass of champagne (or three) at the top of the Eiffel Tower at night and soak in its glory.
Lounge under the warm sun in one of Paris’ many beautiful public parks, discover Monet’s enchanting Water Lilies painting at the Orsay Museum, or take a day trip from Paris to visit the truly magnificent Palace of Versailles or one of the many historic chateaux in Loire Valley.
