I preferred a guided tour as my family and I were a larger group, english speaking, and none had enough knowledge of the Colesseum so wanted a more indepth explanation of the site and it's history.

J'ai apprécié les visites de la prison, du Colisée et du forum. Tout était clairement indiqué à la prison, nous avons commencé par le Colisée après avoir récupéré nos billets, puis la prison. On a fait le forum en fin de journée, quand il faisait un peu moins chaud.

Anna was a wonderful guide, she was very knowledgeable and showed us the highlights of the city. She walked at an agreeable pace for everyone with frequent stops in the shade for the sharing of information. What a great small group experience!

Non dover fare la fila è impagabile, soprattutto da quando siamo diventati un subcontinente africano. Magari un po' più di gentilezza dai gendarmi sarebbe gradita.

Overall, it was a positive experience. We arrived on time and quickly obtained our tickets before being escorted into Vatican City.
Tips:
- Upon entering the gates, you will be directed to a shop. I suggest shopping at the official Vatican store where items are blessed by Vatican priests and prices are more reasonable.
- Secure a seat near the front and then move quickly to the back where the Pope's motorcade will pass closely. Stand as close to the wall as possible. After the Pope passes, return to your seat near the front center.
