Auschwitz-Birkenau
Walk through history at Auschwitz-Birkenau in Oswiecim. Built in 1942, it was the largest concentration camp of the Nazi regime where more than 1.5 million Jewish prisoners were held and subjected to inhumane atrocities during World War II. The place has been turned into a museum to bring awareness about the crimes committed against humanity. Move across the ruins of crematoria, gas chambers, the railway platform, and other objects of the former concentration camp as your English-speaking guide describes the conditions under Nazi rule.
Schindler's Factory
Spend time at the most popular museum in Krakow, the Schindler's Factory. Owned by the German businessman Oskar Schindler, the factory was used to majorly produce enamelware for the German military. The museum today reveals the history and lives of the factory workers. Learn about the heroic efforts of Schindler in protecting Jewish refugees from surrounding ghettos from being transported to Auschwitz-Birkenau and other extermination camps.
