Getting started

Your adventure starts at Matiatia Wharf (or Oneroa Village), where you join a small group (up to eight people) and have your safety harnesses securely fitted. After a clear briefing on safety procedures and equipment use, your guide outlines the day’s plan.

What to expect

Next, you are driven to “The Donut” lookout—the third-highest point on Waiheke—offering a view of 1,800 hectares of Man O’ War. Here, your guide explains the Māori term “Kuri nui” before you step off a 220m platform to begin your zipline flight. You glide along a 300‑meter cable at speeds above 50km/h, taking in views of nearby vineyards, beaches, and the distant cityscape.

After the first zipline, you move to a guided forest walk along a boardwalk. Descending from Kurinui’s deck, you exchange your treetop view for the forest floor, where geckos, skinks, weta, eels, and even glowworms live. Your guide explains Māori myths and how local natural resources are preserved through ongoing wetland restoration projects.

Wrapping up

Then, you board an air‑conditioned shuttle for a 20‑minute “Waiheke Highlights” tour. During this ride, you see the island’s beaches, olive groves, vineyards, and high‑end properties, with commentary that highlights key landmarks. The tour ends with a debrief where your guide recaps practical details of Waiheke’s natural and cultural heritage, ensuring you leave with beautiful memories of this eco‑adventure.
