Begin your journey with a visit to Urbino Ducal Palace, where you'll encounter some of the most famous Renaissance art such as “The Flagellation of Christ", "The Madonna of the Chair" among others. The palace's surroundings are graced by the beautiful Montefeltro landscapes. Urbino was once the residence of Federico da Montefeltro (1422-1482), an influential figure in the Renaissance era. This city also holds the distinction of being the birthplace of the celebrated Renaissance artist, Raphael, whose contributions have significantly influenced the development of Renaissance art . As you explore, don't forget to take in the palace's charming courtyards, halls, and rooms.
National Gallery of the Marche
Visit the National Gallery of the Marche, situated within Urbino's Ducal Palace. The gallery houses a remarkable collection of Renaissance art, including masterpieces like Raphael's "The Madonna of the Chair," Piero della Francesca's "The Flagellation of Christ," Titian's "Man with a Glove," and other captivating works by celebrated artists.
