Start your guided 3-hour walk around Málaga from Plaza de la Marina, one of the city’s main squares. It is also the first sight that visitors from cruise ships get to see when they leave the Port of Málaga. Continue onwards to the over 2,000-year-old Roman Theatre, which was only discovered in 1951. A lot of its construction material, that is, stones and carved columns, were used to build the Alcazaba located right next to it. The Alcazaba, decorated in true Moorish style, sprawls over the eastern hill of the city. Enter this majestic structure and travel back in time as you explore the patios, gateways, and gardens. Take in the scent of the orange blossoms and immerse yourself in the history of Málaga.
Next up is the Plaza de la Merced, home to the Monument to Torrijos, a large obelisk that dominates the square. You’ll see the statue of Picasso, and learn about the origins of the city from your expert local guide. Amble along and discover other emblematic sites of Málaga, including Plaza de la Constitución, Calle Lario, and La Plaza del Obispo. A key highlight of your tour will be your visit to the Málaga Cathedral. Its unfinished state (there is a missing portion of the medieval Moorish wall) has earned it the title, 'La Manquita,' which translates to "The One-Armed Lady".
