Step back in time and find yourself in the 1880s, when crime and horror lurked around the dark corners of East London. This is the world’s only museum dedicated to Jack the Ripper, the suspects, and victims involved in the terrible murders of 1888. Set across six floors, you are privy to recreated scenes and artifacts from the murders that have never been shown to the public before. Take a look at the recreation of PC Watkins discovering Catherin Eddowe’s body on Mitre Square. Explore Jack the Ripper’s “sitting room” that contains medical instruments, books, and an impressive collection of Ripper memorabilia!
The recreation of the Whitechapel police station will blow you away: it was the epicenter of the investigation. Get your investigative juices flowing as you study the wall of clues, newspaper clippings, and letters. The attic is a recreation of Mary Kelly’s (a victim) humble abode, where she lived and died. Learn about the lives of women he murdered. Descend to the morgue (if you dare) where actual autopsy photographs and medical reports of nine women (who fell victim to his bloody knife) are revealed.
