Watching Formula 1 in Baku has been an experience of a lifetime. Street racing is next level fun. Looking forward to Singapore GP next. I would be more than happy to use headout for bookings.

I will never travel to Azerbaijan again, from the moment we arrived it was the worst experience I have encountered whilst traveling and I have traveled extensively throughout the world. The apartment I rented for my family for $1000AUD we were told does not exist and were provided with substandard alternative it where stood over and escorted to atm to make payment in full even though the accommodation was nothing like what I had booked. We continued with our stay as we were there for my daughters 21st and decided to make the most of the situation. We attended the GP which was a great experience. On our last night the police came to our door demanding that my partner and I attend the station has a report had been made against my partner by a doctor who supposedly assaulted by my partner days before. They took our passports and when I tried to contact the Australian consult in turkey they took our phones and said said we had to pay the injured doctor $1500 to drop charges. When we questioned who and when this occurred they presented an elderly lady , I questioned whether she was an actual doctor and any injuries she may have had. They then changed the story to say if we paid the police the $1500 they would change the charges to my partner being attacked. If we did not do this they were going to put my partner in jail. An interpreter arrived who ended up being one of the policeman's wife walked with me to the nearest ATM I gave her $100 USD and the police $1500 and we were driven home. This is extortion for bogus assault which never occurred and an opportunistic attempt to take as much money from me as possible. I will never return to Azerbaijan and to top it off whilst at the airport I received a failed to arrive notice from bookings.com the site used to book the accommodation so the accommodation providers would not be required to pay bookings.com their fee. What a joke Azerbaijan is and it is little wonder the GP has such low attendance if that is how they treat their international guests. As I stated I will never return to Azerbaijan under any circumstances and willl report this to authorities upon my return to Australia.
