From Athens: Meteora Monasteries Full-Day Guided Tour with Lunch

Our tour guide, Maria, was fantastic whom told us great history about the 6 monasteries including the geology of the area. We visited 3 monasteries of which Varlem was the best. She was very passionate and funny. I would highly recommend this tour and having Maria as a guide.

Loved how easy and seamless the whole experience was. The driver drove very smoothly and the guide was just wonderful, explaining everything nicely and giving ample time for exploration. We loved it!

Our guide, Nicolás, was very nice and friendly, and he told you the historical and cultural facts in a very pleasant way. A 10 for the excursion, although those of you with vertigo should be careful.

The tour was excellent. It was long day, because I traveled from Athens, but it was incredible. Especially many thanks to our tourist guide Maria and the driver Sokrates. They were very professional, kind and helpful.

It was an excelent experience, with a duration of 4h 30 minutes in Meteora., full of information, many stops for the most beautiful views. As an Orthodox Christian, I had a spiritual experience too. We had a very good, passionate and helpful guide, Clement, and an excelent driver, Nikos Thank you guys, Claudia and Olga, Romania

The place was amazing and the guide was very friendly and very professional.what I didn't like was the food.you sell it as a typical lunch and it is a kind of selfservice that gives you a choice of three dishes and a small plate with salad without dessert.I advise you to make the trip to Meteora but without the option of food.

The site of the meteors and monasteries is magnificent. Our guide Clément was very interesting, friendly, full of humour and kindness! We highly recommend this tour!

Headout provided seemless service. We easily found our bus across from the train station. Everything was on time. The lunch was a hot entree with salad, much better than expected. The tour bus was fine, Maria our guide was informative and friendly, and the monasteries were unbelievable. Highly recommended.

It was wonderful! Our guide was so nice and told us so many things about Meteora and Kalambaka. The meal was delicious and everything was on point. 10\10

Our trip to Meteora was absolutely magnificent. Not only did it allow us to visit a UNESCO World Heritage site, but it also immersed us in Greek history. It's a testament to the resilience of the Greek people, who have always defended their culture and heritage. It's a true haven of peace, and the hermits were absolutely right to have chosen it as the site for their monasteries. The landscape is breathtaking and the monasteries... Words cannot describe their beauty, both exterior and interior, in terms of architecture, paintings and museums. I'd like to extend my warmest thanks to our guide, Maria, and bus driver, Chris (they'll excuse me for not remembering the Greek form of their first names). The entertainment lived up to our expectations and the atmosphere was more than friendly.

I really enjoyed the tour to the Meteora monasteries! The tour guide Maria did a very good job: she provided a lot of information about the Meteora monasteries and the area in a very entertaining way. The tour was very well organized and we were able to visit three monasteries from the inside, including a very interesting museum in one of the monasteries. The driver Crhistos was a very good driver. I can highly recommend this tour.

IT WAS GREAT!!!! Our guide really jnow his way around te place!! Morover he has even dined with the monks!! Super frendly and knowledgeable guy, wuld recommend 100% !!

i like the guide Eva who explain everything very nicely..and helped us to take best photographs..also the driver Kostos from Athens to Meteora and the other guy ( i dont renember his name from Meteora to Athens were very nice and took very good cara of us.. the lunch also was very good.i recommand this tour to everyone..

The excursion to Metora really exceeded our expectations. Both the guides and the drivers know what they are doing, very friendly and professional. The food at the Tavern was homemade, good and plentiful. Entrance to 2 of the monasteries is not included in the price, we paid 3€ in each but it is worth it. 100% recommendable

We arrived 4 minutes late to the stop because we had an issue with the metro. We missed the bus, and although it was stated everywhere that we wouldn’t be able to recover it, we also couldn’t get in touch with anyone from technical support about our problem. They charged us an additional €50 per person to go the next day, and I felt there was a lack of attention that we did receive in other tours; it seemed like they only cared about the money. As for the tour itself, the driver was quite rude, and we even left before the scheduled time, which explains what happened the previous day. Once there, we had a guide who barely spoke. He mostly made jokes throughout the trip and only told us the bare minimum, in my opinion. He would sit down often, and although he was friendly and asked if we were satisfied and if we had any questions, he didn’t really provide more information, so we didn’t know what to ask. In my opinion, he left a lot to be desired.
