We opted for a single entry ticket, but without an audioguide.
At first, we had to queue for a few minutes, but soon the museum staff came to collect us with our special tickets.
This type of ticket gives you access to the entrance courtyard, the many halls of power, and rooms displaying armor and weapons. You'll cross the Bridge of Sighs, which is a kind of tunnel, to access the prisons on the two lower floors.
You won't be able to visit the rooftop cells where Casanova was held, or the secret itinerary rooms.

the Doge's Palace is so remarkable that it is wonderful to visit and learn of the Palace. the queues are long even mid March, so to buy a ticket beforehand is helpful especially with our adult son who has autism and intellectual disability and waiting can be very troublesome. he loved the beauty and splendour of the Palace.

The Palace itself, the amazing mural paintings, the different marbles with surprising colours, the fabulous woodwork. One note: visiting the prison part at the end seems a bit too long and sort of brings you down from the wonderful experience of the palace; maybe the tour should start with the prison and end in the palace!

Ease. Even though the city was packed, we were able to get in quickly. What I liked most: the palazzo, of course. You never get tired of seeing it, I would have spent hours sitting in front of the wonderful painting by Tintoretto. I missed a bit of information about the different saints and characters because in the distance, I could not distinguish the attributes well, but that's stuff for the art-enthusiasts.

As there are ticket machines everywhere where you can buy tickets yourself, it makes no sense to book in advance via Headout. Even with Headout, you have to queue at the machine and laboriously enter a code. By the time this has been done successfully, the boat has already left, as they operate strictly according to the timetable and do not wait.

Organized and very convenient for Venice experience. Like it very much. But, we could NOT use the second paid day because the strike on 24 February and that spoiled our plans. First day excelent, the second one failed. Anyway the concept is equally good for rezidents and for tourists as adventige.
