From Pompeii: Mount Vesuvius & Herculaneum or Pompeii Day Trip

This tour is basically a travel service between Pompei, Mt Vesuvius and Herculaneum. We were taken to Mt Vesuvius and left there - told to meet the bus at particular time. Considerable confusion about which bus to get on - driver very confused. Next we were dropped at Herculaneum with an audio guide that was totally separate to the Herculaneum numbers so when you played it, it didn't match where you were. Got back to bus at time we were told. Company miscounted number of participants so we had to sit and wait an extra 15 minutes. Driver was not happy and drove us back to Pompei in a very unsafe manner (130km/hr) on highway in a rickety minibus. Then we were left at Pompei with audio guide which had to be returned by 5.30 so you could get your ID back. An extremely disorganised company and too expensive to basically pay for transport and entry tickets. Enjoyed climbing Mt Vesuvius and wandering around Pompei and Herculaneum without audio guides.

Our excursion to Vesuvius and Pompeii was well organized and staff were very friendly. No queuing to either attraction and bus drops at convenient locations. Only feedback is the Vesuvius walk is much further than 1km quoted by the guides from drop off and is not the easy walk it's advertised as. Maps of Pompeii were limited in detail - would have preferred a more explicit map and more detailed audio

Climbing Vesuvius was a great experience. Even so, the package said that it included a volcanologist guide in the visit to the volcano, not only there was no guide but the ONLY thing they told us was that it took 20 minutes to climb (totally false, it takes to get to the first bar) and that in an hour and a half we had to return to the point where the bus had left us. For the visit to Pompeii was with audio guide, not all the regions in Pompeii (important) and those that do enter are not all assigned numbers. In addition I had to download an application that I do not need.... (Because there is no other way to access the entrances). For the rest, correct.

Superb day at Mount Vesuvius and Pompeii. We loved the experience. Everything is well organized. The climb to the summit takes about 30 minutes and is difficult, but once you're up there you won't regret it! All in all, it takes two hours to walk up to the summit, around it and back down again, which leaves plenty of time to enjoy the view (and recover from the climb). For Pompeii, the visit is free. I recommend reserving Vesuvius in the morning so you can enjoy Pompeii in the afternoon, as the site is very large.

Yolanda was a very knowledgeable tour guide in Pompei. We went straight to the most impressives spots and her comments were very interesting. I recommand this tour guide.

We had a lovely day. The tour was well organized, starting with the vesuvius. The time to visit the top of the vesuvius was well calculated, without rushing too much. Then a free tour of Pompeii.

easy to book the tickets and to find the tour office. pompeï was amazing and the bus trip up to the Vesuvius well organized.

Pompeii is a marvel. To put a downside the audio guide is too monotonous. It is always better a guided tour that guides you through the best places, as it is huge. We went in at 3 pm and it is true that it was very hot. It is recommended to visit early in the morning if you go in summer.

everything went according to the plan its better to book the earlier times to have enough time to spent in pompei staff were very nice and helpful

We really enjoyed this tour of Vesuvius and the archaeological site of Pompeii. The tour guides are very friendly and very good at guiding tourists.

It was okay. Not long enough in Pompei itself if you start at 11:40 and do Vesuvius and Pompei. You need to do the earlier ones in order to properly do both. The staff were not very helpful either, our flight was delayed by 6 hours so we missed our tour. I paid full price for the same tour the following day only to be disappointed and rushed. None of the staff were friendly or helpful. Overall a bad experience and wouldn't go through this company again. You can by self audio guides for cheaper at Pompei main entrance.

There is no way we could have seen all this without your wonderful tour! Well organised and a very fair price. Staff were friendly and helpful. And indeed we booked a tour for the very next day!

The tour was fantastic! The guide Mario and the driver Guseppe were so great, so friendly and informative. Mario is such a fun and lively person, he provided so many interesting facts about the area. Guseppe was so kind to take us to the right train station when we got confused and told him to take us to the wrong one. Very nice and kind people and highly recommend this amazing tour!

It was a simple process, go to the local pick up point supplied . You are greeted by the agency and supplied with the booking ticked and told the process. The bus trip up Vesuvius was quick and easy. Also collected on time and dropped back off. Easy and simple.

The organization was great, as was the bus transport up to Vesuvius and back down again. You have a time window of about 1.5 hours at Vesuvius. You have to take into account that you have to walk up for between 20 and 30 minutes, the descent is a little quicker, i.e. you have an approximate time span of 30 to 45 minutes at the crater itself. An extra 30 minutes would make the whole thing more relaxed. So if you are totally fit, you get more out of the crater ;-) Visiting Pompeii is a must. However, apparently you can't visit everything with these tickets, as some streets are reserved for guided tours only. Unfortunately this happened to us, what a shame! Overall, the Vesuvius-Pompeii tour is worth seeing, but also exhausting.

I loved Vesuvius and Pompeii , but the time of arrival was listed as strict check I. 15 mi. Prior to 10 tour. We arrived at office at 9am and the agent spent 15-20 min reviewing instructions and audio guides for Pompeii. We were then told to sit and wait . At 10 we walked to a nearby parking lot but our names were not on list and therefore no in van. At 10:25 am the van still had not left , we had to back to office and were told we were in 10:40 trip despite our ticket. The issues a "same day" last minute ticket for our family and we departed close to 11am. By the time we got to volcano was noon. We had planned to do Pompeii and the another destination which we had to cancel due to the delay. At Pompeii I had thought instead of just being handed a map, there would have been some advice regarding sites and route etc. no information- suboptimal

A guided tour to the two archaeological sites would have been far better. The coach at Herculaneum failed to reserve seats for us, so my wife and I had to lose a full forty minutes off our allocated time in Pompeii, shiest we waited for another coach! This meant we only had less than two hours there..... Shame.
