Athens National Archaeological Museum Tickets with Optional Audio Guide

The amount of exhibits housed here is incredible. You could go for 2 days and still not be able to take it all in. Its laid out really well and they have timed entry making it easy to linger. We didn't find an audio tour necessary due to detailed descriptions. Highly recommend

The exhibits ere wonderful, the realities of the entire collection were truly amazing and the opportunity to experience them in the timeless city overwhelming

The museum was amazing. The audio guides were informative, easy to use and well done. The exhibits were labeled perfectly and helped us better understand the history of Greece and Athens. The collections were so impressive.

A must-see when visiting Athens! Tickets bought on Headout, perfect 👍 This museum contains some absolutely remarkable exhibits, the only downside is the lack of structure in the tour itinerary, it's a bit hard to see how the exhibits are organized, it's a bit disjointed... as it's already taking half a day to see everything, a bit more information on the tour itinerary would be welcome 😉

A great museum, unfortunately the audio guide was not up to date. The exhibits were in different rooms to those indicated in the guide, so we could only ask the staff for information. At some point we switched off the audio guide. What a pity.

Seeing artefacts and work that we have both studied over recent years was the highlight for both my daughter and myself. This was particularly true of the Mycenaean exhibition.

1) The Kariates are in great risk. In the case af a small, or even, at the beginning of a strong earthquake they will fall down. Cannot stand as they are today, forming vertically standing cantilevers with almost hinged supports compared to their height!. The square architraves on their heads must be tight together anr anchoted into the walls with invisible ties. 2) In some showcases, botween the interconected glasses is missing the necessary ruber strip

Well the museum staff was nice, the way rooms are ordered is weird. The rooms went 1-17 and then you can switch to 36.if you go in the regular order up to 35 and they say visit the upper froor there is room 43 only there. It was nice experience.

The redemption point was not accurate, follow the signs on the road. There were some pieces of the museum that were closed which was disappointing, but it was cool to see. We needed less time here than expected because there was not a lot of diversity in what was included in the museum. I am glad we went to see some of the old statues and vases and things, but it was a lot of the same things over and over.

Super museum that allowed us to see the Atisitaire mechanism. The artifacts were well preserved and well presented. The information provided with the audioguide was excellent but could have been more concise. We didn't listen to everything, or we'd have been lying there!

The exhibition is incredible, and the explanations are very detailed. It is sometimes difficult to find the works described in the audio guide.

The museum has some real gems, and the courtyard (along with seats inside the air-conditioned snack bar that face courtyard through a window) . Snack bar has alcoholic options and Greek sandwiches fairly priced.

Very friendly staff... Easy-to-use audio guide in Italian with short and concise descriptions.... The museum is well organized is mandatory visit made even more interesting if we visited the archaeological sites of Athens first..... I always recommend the presence of a licensed guide especially at archaeological sites

On the plus side: the quality and diversity of the exhibits, which were very rich. Areas for improvement: The tour inside the museum, not very coherent (no continuity between the different rooms...) The museum's outdoor bar/restaurant: a tourist trap (ask for the price before consuming, and evaluate the take-away vs. on-site prices).

I paid the extra fee to get the audio guide, only to find out that at the museum reception desk it is given for FREE, made by an archaeologist to boot. You might say, you ripped me off 7€, but rest assured that I will advise everyone I know not to take your audio guide

Seeing all the amazing artifacts and pieces created over 2 millennia ago by the people of the Greek culture remind us that we're capable of achieving timeless art and engineering; they give guidance to human beings to strive to create art and help one another come to a deeper and more complete understanding of our human life on Earth. ❤️💛💚💙. The museum is truly wonderful with well labeled and described exhibits. Even my teenager was impressed with the jewelry display and the perfectly preserved fresco walls with the beautiful painting.

This was an amazing museum to visit. It was quite impressive with art work dating far back in time. Getting tickets in advance was great, skip the line worked.

The Athens National Archeological Myseum is the best organized, well designed and intelligently presented Museum we have ever experienced! By comparison, the British National museum is a dusty storage cabinet! We planned a visit if 3 hours for the Athens museum and ended up staying a full half day! The audio feature was super helpful! I highly recommend a lot by vusit to the museum!

We enjoyed the artwork exhibited in the National Archaeological Museum. There were amazing, beautiful pieces, both small and large. This museum explained so much about Greek history as well.
