Off-Beat Waitomo Glowworm Caves Small Group Guided Tour

It was a one-of-a-kind tour. Ashley was very knowledgeable and funny! It was great to explore the caves with a small group of adventure lovers. And Ashley took such great pictures of us. I made friends and saw breathtaking glowworm caves, what more could you I ask for? I really made memories that will last for a lifetime. I highly recommend.

The company is family owned and operated out of a farm house. Everyone was exceptionaly nice, inluding homemade treats after the tour. Nice to have the clothing all provided, Ash our guide was great, knowlegable and funny and personable. I highly recommend.

This trip was one of our best experiences in New Zealand. The river valley was beautiful, the caves were stupendous and the stalactites and stalagmites were breath-taking... and then the glow-worm cavern itself was wonderful. Ash was a great guide. Can't recommend this highly enough.

We loved that the caves are owned buy the tour guide! They meant a lot to them. A very personal experience with the locals. Ash was great!! We wish you guys the best!!

fantastic. 3 hours of walking through the woods and the cave. Beautiful experience. The parking lot is very spacious and clothes are provided by those who organize the trip. The group consisted of 6 people plus the guide, and we all moved together, no one stood behind. The cave is sometimes not spacious so I do not recommend the visit to people who suffer from claustrophobia and being a cave in the case of rains the trip is canceled. At the end coffee, cake and laughter

The tour lead by Esh was awesome. It was fun, educational and unforgettable. I will say that for 4 fit seniors late 60's early 70's, it was the maximum of our capabilities. Thanks Esh for taking it slow for us. We had a very enjoyable memorable day.

Our guide was knowledgeable and made the visit fun for everyone. We were not rushed and allowed to make the most of our time in the caves. I would recommend this small group experience to anyone interested in seeing the glow worms.

Super fun and adventurous ! They provide all clothing so you don't need to worry about that. Great guide and experience!

We are so happy that we booked the Down to Earth tour. This is a guided tour into a privately owned and essentially undeveloped glowworm cave. Not too hard but, in my opinion, not suitable for somebody with mobility issues or fear of tight spaces. Also, prepare to get wet ... but know that a full change of clothing is provided. My wife and I had been looking for a somewhat longer tour restricted to only a handful of participants, and Down to Earth delivered! Ash, who guided the tour, is a lot of fun. He is very knowledgeable, and it is clear that he loves what he does. The glowworm cave was amazing - I loved it. Ash told us to turn off our headlamps, and once our eyes adjusted the cave ceiling came "alive". I send the pictures that Ash took to my family, and they marvelled at the night sky of New Zealand! Of course I corrected them ... and now they too want to come and see the glowworms. One of my favourite experiences here in New Zealand. Thank you Ashley.

A really informative and entertaining tour/trek. Ash was a very amicable guide and the interesting features were sympathetically introduced and described .

The tour was amazing. We had so much fun and Ash explain every detail of the tour, he is very accomodating and he has a good sense of humor.

This was awesome great guide small group under and over boulders as we went deep into the cave, stalactites and stalagmites and the glow worms it was a bit challenging but lots of fun.
