Round-Trip Train Tickets to Gornergrat from Zermatt + Zermatt Shuttle Tickets

We were there two days before the storm in June 24. The weather and visibility were great. Despite the crowds and full lifts, we felt comfortable. We were able to walk back to Zermatt (despite the snow).

It was very easy to get tickets at the Tasch train station by scanning the QR code on the ticket vending machines.

Buying tickets in advance was effective because we avoided the queue at the station ticket counters. The Gornergrat is a lovely place and offers a 360-degree view of all the mountains and glaciers surrounding Zermatt.

The organization was very good, the train ride wonderful, the weather fantastic and the mountains unforgettably beautiful and breathtaking. The raclette at the Gorner Grad Hotel was great. All in all, a fantastic day that will be unforgettable.

"Spectacular mountain trips". I felt blessed, being surrounded by the grandiosity, peace and beauty of the scenery on these two trips in the Alpes. I suggest do to do the Gornergrat one day, and the Glacier Paradise on another. Dedicate time to contemplate the magnificence of nature, while having a coffee or a meal.

The ticketing experience was smooth and easy when I went online to purchase... The experience was great on the mountain we even enjoyed lunch at the top it was a bit expensive but the experience was great..

I purchased two priority tickets for the Matterhorn experience, these are more expensive than the standard tickets and usually grant you priority boarding to avoid the queues and guarantee a seat. When we arrived the priority boarding was closed and after speaking to the team there it appears it had been for several weeks prior. I reached out to Headout hoping to be reimbursed for the extra priority price we paid and I also attached a photo of the signage showing that access temporarily closed. Over a week later and I'm still awaiting a response. The only experience is great, incredible views but the train was very congested in early December with many people standing. Early in the season so the restaurants weren't all open at the top.

On-Line advanced Ticket purchase - 10/10. Check in at Station in Zermatt - 7/10. This was confusiing and time consuming having to scan bar codes on phone to get an actual paper ticket. Why not just use the bar codes as the tickets? Very strange! Actual train rides were on time and trains were spotlessly clean.

The trip on the Gornergrat cogwherl train was wonderful. The scenery was awe inspiring and when we got to the observation area the views were spectacular! Having clean bathrooms was much appreciated. We did not eat but the little shop was busy and had some nice dishes. The actual ticketing was less than acceptable. There was No one there to assist as we had our tickets on my phone and no one directed us to obtain a ticket from the machines. We had to get into the very long lines to find our we could have used our ticket 🎟 in the premineun lane or get one from the machine. A lot of wanted time and energy and almost messed the only train that fit into our schedule.

The train ride was incredible, having previously booked with Head out made it easy in a busy station. Will definitely use them again.

Such an easy process. Purchased tickets online. Easy collection at the station. Excited when we were told we had priority boarding - got great seats - overall an amazing experience 😀

Easy rebooking to another day possible. Very friendly and helpful service at the valley station. The panoramic view from the Gornergrat of countless glaciers is gigantic!

It was quick and easy to book the ticket but tricky getting it at the train station as not In Zermatt as left from a different train station

I wish I would have known I could have purchased the tickets directly from the Gornergrat train vendor. And saved money bc i had a Swiss Tail pass - could have saved 50%. Oh well

The train trip up and back were totally worth every minute. However, the ticketing process was slightly confusing as the instructions on the app said photo ID would be required and it was not, which delayed us a bit as we had to stand in line to get to the ticket booth to ask if we were doing it right. All you needed to do was scan the QR code and take the little tickets that came out to use up/down the train line.

Overall it was a good experience, weather was not great and we couldn't see the Matterhorn :,(
