Prado Museum Guided Tours

The guide(men with a pink umbrella) was awesome. He was passionate and gave a super good explanation of some major paintings. It was impressive and enjoyable experience.

Paola was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. Her English was spot on. She shared a lot of additional details regarding the connection of Prado Museum with the city and it's history. The tour was not at all rushed we had enough time to see each masterpiece in details while listening to her and we also had a small bonus given we had time left.

Our guide Juan was great, right from the meeting point to be guided for the first visit in this splendid museum, beginning with 'El Bosco' -Hieronimus Bosch's world, and giving us wonderful details as well as all the great highlights through the different centuries. An awesome tour, and interesting and pleasant, thank you!

Guide had perfect English and was very interesting. Small group, audio worked well. Quite a lot shorter than advertised however.

My guide made the museum experience really meaningful. now i wonder if i would enjoy all museums way more with a guide! she honed in on four concepts- mainly time periods- and helped us understand more about the artistic techniques we were seeing, as well as understanding the political and historical context that the art was created within. it was amazing. note: i can't share a photo because photos are strictly forbidden at the Prado.

I loved the guide's knowledge of the most important paintings and the history of the museum. We got to see the most important parts of the museum and was very time-efficient.

Our tour guide, Macarena, was amazing and brought the paintings to life and gave a perspective I would have never imagined. The staff was very accommodating and the exhibits were breathtaking.

The guide was remarkably, the best we have had for any art museum. The pace was excellent and the insight offered by the guide was breathtaking!

The ticketing experience was very easy and quick. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and interesting. We highly recommend it to get so much more out of a visit to the museum. Very worthwhile.

The designated meeting point was somewhat confusing and illogical, not in front of the museum but rather across the street. But the guide, Xavier/Javier, was friendly, funny, smart, patient and knowledgeable.

A Day at the Prado: A Tour with Helena This year, I had the pleasure of experiencing one of the best guided tours I’ve ever attended. Visiting the Prado Museum in Madrid is always a highlight, but having Helena as our guide took it to an entirely new level. Helena’s knowledge of the museum’s collection was impressive. She brought the works of Velázquez, Goya, and Bosch to life with stories that were both fascinating and engaging. Her ability to explain the nuances of each painting, from the political undertones of Las Meninas to the surreal details of The Garden of Earthly Delights, kept everyone hooked. But what set her apart was her entertaining style. Helena didn’t just recite facts; she made the history feel alive. Her humor and passion for the art were infectious, and she encouraged questions and discussions, making the experience interactive and fun. It wasn’t just a tour; it was a journey through history, culture, and art. If you’re planning to visit the Prado, I can’t recommend Helena enough. She turned what could have been an ordinary museum visit into the best cultural experience I’ve had this year.

Alex was awesome. I learned a ton about Spain's history through the art and also enjoyed the museum's legendary artwork, which Alex made more accessible. Fantastic tour!

Our guide Helena was well spoken and provide historical facts for the artwork we were directed to. By providing the tour in an historical continuum it made traversing the museum easier as well.

The experience was very pleasant, the rooms are well distributed, the works are well illuminated and there are plenty of benches to rest.

Lisa, the Guide, was very passionate about the Prado and art works and provided us with an excellent overall experience, in English.

We had an excellent guide, Marta. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. My only issue is not a reflection on her but the way it is scheduled. It should have been 2 hours instead of 90 minutes since so much time is lost to the logistics of getting through security, cloak room storage and then moving through the crowded museum. Overall a very enjoyable experience.

Nice guide . She was very patient BUT It was a bit confusing where they would start. It was indicated 12:50 at Goya manoument but at 13:10 somebody showed up after I called Another big issue : we booked at 11:00 and the night before they let us know they moved us to 13:00 which messed up our plans. And I booked a city tour with the same company and they cancelled it less than one hour before starting!

Easy check-in. Belen was great. She set-up the narrative from a historical perspective well and explained the transition of stylistic art form over the centuries for a novice to understand. The length of tour eas perfect as an introduction. If I ever returned I would request Belen for a longer tour of available.

We loved our guided tour of the Prado Museum with guide Aurora, who was very dynamic and interesting, with a great sense of humor to boot! The tour was suitable for the whole family, with clear, concise explanations that enabled us to make the most of this 2-hour visit to the Prado's finest paintings.
