The contemporary exhibition on colonialism was excellent. I will not look at "Western" coloniser art in the same way again. I enjoyed the number and the range of paintings by Salvador Dali. Not as many Picasso works as I was expecting. The historical and political themes were interesting for me. Not as many 'wonderful' paintings as I was expecting.

Of course the art is what made it memorable. We were glad to be able to take a break in the cafe. The maps were confusing and we missed galleries we wanted to see. The restrooms were hard to find.

1) I was confused when I got to the venue as to why I didn't already have a ticket. At one of the venues, the ticket office person initially rejected it as a valid voucher. I had to explain to her that it was.
2) the tour groups at the Prado make the experience impossible to enjoy for independent travelers. You should try to reserve certain hours of the day when tour groups aren't allowed to operate. They monopolize all the masterpieces.

It was more of a visit to get a closer look at iconic paintings. The truth is that I loved it, because there wasn't a long line. I was able to take pictures of the paintings I liked.

It's overwhelming to see the exhibited pictures, which you've seen a hundred times before, in real life. It would take several days to take in this great modern art. I simply must return soon to this great metropolis with its unique art collections - con mucho gusto!!!

You don't get an audio guide with a paid ticket.

Really beautiful museum with a selection of really memorable works. It is worth taking a tour and devoting a few hours to this unique place. The facility is well-maintained, there are practically no entry controls, you can let anything through without having your backpacks looked at (a bad thing given the cultural value of the works present), the guide worked very well, but the layout of the rooms can be confusing to navigate. The staff was very helpful in helping us.

I had a short stop in Madrid before a long flight back home and was able to purchase last minute tickets to Museo Reina Sofia the night before.
