The advantage in winter is that there aren't many people around. You travel with the Italians, who are really friendly. We booked our tickets online. There's a terminal on site that prints out your tickets with the reservation number, and that's it. Transport validity starts at the first check-in, which is very practical. So if your first check-in is at 16:00, it ends the next day at 16:00 (for a 24:00 pass). You have to validate your ticket each time you travel, and the screen shows the date and time of expiry. In 3 days we had 2 checks.

You can go anywhere, there are lots of them, so if you miss one, others will follow, they are always on time and if you are not sure which line to take, just ask, the staff are always there to help you. Very practical and fast.

Nowhere else that I have seen is the concentration of beauty such. Quite simply, every corner, every canal, every campiello, every palace, every doorway, every bridge, every calle, every narrow alley, every courtyard, every window on which the eye rests is beautiful. Everywhere is beautiful, everywhere the city is suspended in time, anything (except, the train station) that is part of the historic center on the lagoon islands (plus Murano, Burano, Torcello...) exudes beauty. Venice is also unique, without any doubt, but not "only" for being suspended over water, nor for remaining suspended in time. Venice is all these things, but it is also incredibly wonderful, it is really all beautiful. The noisy tourists are there, San Marco is often unlivable because of them, but often it is enough-incredibly-to turn a corner to find yourself in total silence, in the shadow of a secret garden guarded by a decaying palace with an elegant medieval loggia. And the placid canals of the Castello district, surrounded by empty palaces, without inhabitants or stores, when no one passes by. And the lonely bridges over these canals, and almost the unraveling of the elaborate forms of the palaces in the water, and the silence unbroken by the gondolas that skim the water, the thousands of churches with singular facades, the palaces restored or let fall apart, the shady alleys, the courtyards...I prefer the withdrawn Venice of the rii, but there is little that can be denied: what the tourists flock to is also beautiful, very beautiful (and anyway, it is worth repeating, the historic center is vast and labyrinthine, and often at the first crossroads of the tourists nl there is no longer a trace). So many surprises revealed strictly by walking, so many hidden tree-lined campielli with an atmosphere all their own, so many buildings with architecture never seen before, but beautiful, and sunsets over the Cannareggio canal, and airy views from the fondamenta. It would still be necessary to return every now and then, and wander around to satisfy a certain longing for beauty.

We were a little apprehensive about using vaporetto to get around venice but we needn't have worried. It was so easy to get around and having the 7 day ticket made it so much easier. And views in the dark with the Christmas lights were magical!

Tickets were easy to get with the online code at the ticket machine. Otherwise best ticket option if you stay more then 3 days.

The vaporetti can be reached at short intervals. No long waiting times. The lines and letters of the landing stage are clearly signposted at the stations, as are the waiting times for the various lines.

The practicality of not always having to buy new tickets and allowed us to take full advantage of it by taking tours even in the lagoon to scorprire certain islands as well.

Using the Vaporetto in Venice is the ideal way to discover its neighborhoods and the splendor of this city. The staff are professional and very helpful. Thank you very much.

I took a tour to Morano Burrano and torcheli. Unfortunately I missed the tour boat from torcheli to burrano. Thankfully I had my vapareto three day water pass and was able to use it to get to Burano to catch the rest of my tour.

I would have liked to give it an "excellent", but unfortunately there was an ACTV strike on one day. Since you agree to waive any claims for compensation when the ticket is issued (otherwise you won't get a ticket despite paying), it's actually a gag contract. Apart from that, everything went perfectly - no complaints at all.

Ticket very easy to use, but I couldn't redeem it at the machine, only at the counter and at first the clerk didn't want to redeem it at the counter, only after I made it clear that it didn't work at the machine did it work. It was very helpful to take the Vapporettos, they run frequently but are often very full, but that is generally Venice's problem

It was perfect from A to Z. We were greeted in the airport lobby (and taken back to the terminal on our return trip), the boat was impeccable, and the service was perfect. Truly a great experience.

At the moment, it makes no difference whether I buy the ticket online or from a ticket machine. Either way, I have to print out the ticket at the machine. Buying online is therefore not worthwhile! Couldn't the ticket be sent to my cell phone?

Venice is simply beautiful and well connected by boat. Sometimes at peak times, however, you should build in a buffer if you are in a hurry.

We got a voucher and had to redeem it for tickets. So we had to go to a ticket machine/ticket store. The lady in the ticket store said very unfriendly that we had booked a machine and not a person who could help us. So we could have just as easily bought the 7-day ticket directly on site, same effort and unfriendliness

Included bus in & out from Mestre on the mainland to Venice. Hopping on & off the water taxis to get around Venice, when not walking, is the only way to get around so has to be done. Buses in in the morning & back to the mainland in the evening were very busy. Similarly water taxi from the more popular locations was very busy in the evening, couldn't get on some of them first time, so leave yourself some time/plan. It's a shame the pass didn't include the train as Santa Lucia to Mestre in the evening was much less busy than the bus when we got on it by mistake!

We had a 3-day ticket for using the vaporetto and found it very convenient to be able to use it for short distances at any time. Sometimes even just to cross the Grand Canal. And you usually don't have to wait long for a boat to arrive. Very comfortable.
