Back to the Future gebucht.

Their voices were amazing!! And the special effects were great too! Could really feel the dragon rumble, even at the very back which we were. Still had a great experience and could see everything from our seats which were second to the very back row. The seats were great considering the price; I would like to see it again but from a lot closer just for the full full full effect. Would highly recommend the show and the seats ☺️👍🏼

Climate Overview:

Similar to the rest of the UK, London’s year-round weather is characterized chiefly by seasonal humidity, overcast skies, and a mild, temperate air throughout.

London in Spring:

London during the spring time presents a time of occasional rain but a largely sunny yet pleasant weather. As the winter starts to thaw the city, tourists visiting London during the Spring are rewarded with flowers blooming throughout the city. Many holidays and celebrations such as Easter and the Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race take place during this time of the year, and the Kew Gardens are an excellent place to visit in Spring, owing to the blossoming blooms.

London in Summer:

London in Summer heralds peak tourist season for the city, and it is easy to see why. The weather is extremely pleasant, characterized by sunny and clear skies, breezy temperatures, and minimal rainfall. Tourists flocking to London during this time of the year make the most of the longer daylight hours and explore as many attractions during the daytime as possible. Summertime in London also sees various festivals such as the Notting Hill Carnival, so plan your travel wisely to avoid tourist crowds!

London in Autumn

Autumn in London brings a slight chill in the air, but the overall weather remains as mild and pleasant as always. Both tourists and Londoners love to explore the city on foot this time of the year, as streets and parks are lined with autumnal hues on trees. Most festivals take place during this time of the year, such as the London Design Festival and the Trafalgar Day Parade. It does get colder after the sun has set, so it’s wise to travel with some form of outerwear - like a jacket.

London in Winter

While the weather is significantly colder during the winter, tourists are not deterred from exploring London in the least. The climate is still pleasant, albeit the need to travel with heavy, padded clothing and an umbrella - since rains are frequent this time of the year. Snow-related activities are common, as the city is a veritable winter wonderland.
London offers something for everyone at all times of the year, though depending on your preference, there are some highlight times to visit.
For Sightseers: The winter and spring months, all the way up to April, are perfect for sightseers who are trying to avoid the usual large crowds of tourists all vying to go to the same locations. With cooler temperatures, these months are great for sightseeing at spots that are otherwise jam-packed.
For Festival-Goers: With a ton of festivals being held around the months of September and October, the city is abuzz with excitement as the weather gets slightly cooler. Those who are hoping to catch London in the throes of the festive season need to plan their trip around these months.
For Travelers: For people taking a longer trip or those who are passing through London and exploring the city in the process can expect budget deals on their hotel stays during the Spring months of March and April, as well as the Autumn months of September and October.

Wi-Fi and SIM Card

Once you’ve landed at the London airport, one of the first things you may want to consider is if you need to purchase a new SIM card for the duration of your stay. Without one, you may be stuck with limited data consumption and the inability to make international phone calls or send text messages. Thankfully, you have loads of SIM card options to choose from in London.
Things to consider:
  • Among the different types of SIM cards offered in London, PAYG (pay-as-you-go) and prepaid options are arguably the best for tourists.
  • If you don’t see yourself using a significant amount of data on your phone, you can opt for a low-cost prepaid plan and use the public Wi-Fi for your internet needs.
  • If you plan to visit other European countries, try purchasing a prepaid plan offered by an operator that provides free or discounted EU roaming.
  • Expect each SIM to have vastly different network speeds in different parts of the city. For the highest coverage, choose EE or O2.

Daily Budget

  1. Average: The average daily costs of exploring London are around £149 per day.
  2. Budget: For those looking to experience London while on a tight budget can bring their expenditure down to £56 per day.
  3. Luxury: If budget isn’t a concern and you can afford to splurge while exploring London, you can expect to spend around £423 per day.

Visa

As a tourist in the UK, you’ll be required to apply for a Standard Visitor visa before you enter the country. This visa is valid for a period of up to six months, and you must fulfill the eligibility criteria in order to be granted the Standard Visitor visa.
Things to consider:
  • You will need to apply online for a Standard Visitor visa, after which you will have to attend an appointment wherein you prove your eligibility and furnish the required documents.
  • It is good to check whether you need a Standard Visitor visa at all, as some countries are exempt from the visa requirement, provided their stay in the UK is limited to six months.

Public Transportation in London

Luckily for tourists, the public transportation system in London is one of the best in the world. You can choose from the London Underground (or the Tube) or buses to make your way around London.
  • If you’re planning to take public transport at any point of your stay, it is extremely important for you to purchase a Visitor Oyster Card. This will make your travel cheaper and more seamless, as buses in London don’t typically accept cash payments.
  • You can choose to take the bus as your preferred form of public transport because while it’s slower, it allows you to take in the sights around you - making the best of your time spent traveling!
  • There’s plenty of options for airport transfers in London or attractions transfers in London that make your time there hassle-free while not draining your wallet.
  • Don’t miss out on using the Tube at least once during your stay (it’s a must have London experience)

Things to know:

  • Driving: If you’re planning to rent a car and drive around in London, you should be prepared for the fact that Londoners drive on the left side of the road.
  • Tipping: Tipping after a meal is optional in London, and if your cheque already has a 10% service charge added to it, it is not necessary to tip in addition to that.
  • There’s tons of handy apps like City Mapper and the Tube app which can help you navigate the confusing network of public transport with ease.

Budgeting tips to know:

  • Eat street food: Not only is the street food in London cheap, but it is also delicious - even more so than restaurants, some might argue. To imbibe the local flavor of the city and stick to your budget, try to seek out as many of these local eateries as possible.
  • Free attractions: Not all of London’s attractions need you to pay an entry fee to visit. There are many historically important attractions you can head to without spending a single dime.
  • If you’re planning to head to a lot of London’s most popular attractions like the Tower of London and the Shard, invest in city passes in London- it gives you free access to over 90 attractions AND the city’s public transport!
When you’re thirsty, don’t hesitate to drink from the taps in London. You can save on a lot of money by not purchasing water.

Local festivals to know:

  • Notting Hill Carnival: A time of colorful celebration by the West Indian population in London, the Notting Hill carnival takes place every August. This festival is known for its loud and glorious merrymaking, in addition to the awe-inspiring floats and costumes donned on by the people. Caribbean food and dance, of course, is a notable part of the celebration.
  • Bonfire Night: The famous Gunpowder Plot, on the fifth of November, was an event that’s hugely significant for London’s history. Marking the day of the failed attack by Guy Fawkes, the Bonfire Night is a celebration that sees a massive number of fireworks - and, of course, bonfires.
  • Christmas: The holiday season at the end of the year is one of the most important times for London, as the city is decked out in gorgeous displays of Christmas lights, carolers, giant Christmas trees, and ice skating rinks. Visitors in London during Christmas can head to London’s popular attractions to take in the festive spirit and explore London’s Christmas markets.
There’s so much to see and do in London that planning your trip there can be overwhelming, to say the least. Luckily, depending on the duration of your visit to London, you can choose a pre-planned itinerary and make it your personal London travel guide for a hassle-free traveling experience.
