The tickets had to be picked up at another address, when they could have sent them to the app or email directly to us. We had to queue to get in anyway.

Our guide, Vladmir, was always very attentive to the tourists, providing us with a wealth of information about the history of the monuments and the architecture of the period. He illustrated each element in great detail, narrating the history impeccably.

The tickets must be picked up at a local 250m from the Pantheon, so it is uncomfortable to have to go first to the collection point. Once at the Pantheon there is no one to manage any problems you may have, you simply enter through the central row, wait for the audio guide to be handed to you at a table on your left and finally manage the rest of the visit yourself.

Step into an ancient Roman temple

Crossing the threshold under the Pantheon’s distinctive triangle, you are first greeted by a porch lined with giant Corinthian columns. Make your way past the massive bronze doors and find a burst of color within this externally intimidating building! Add on an audio guide to help you understand what’s in store.

Stunning marble work, elegant arches, and a mathematically astounding dome unveil themselves. Opulent altars and crypts provide an air of reverence. Gaze up from the center of the Pantheon at a ceiling lined with ornate rectangular indentations that enhance the enormity of its dome. At the pinnacle of this dome you will find the ‘oculus’, an eye that lets in natural light – and was believed to let out demonic spirits during the Pantheon’s transformation into a church!
