Michelangelo sought to resolve the daunting task of visualizing the endgame of all existence, and in his effort created a masterpiece of towering glory, an epic painting worthy of grandeur. His subjects don the ornaments of metaphors and allusions, while depicting the story of The Genesis on the walls of the Sistine Chapel. The Last Judgement is perhaps, Michealangelo’s most complex work of art and took him well over 4 years to complete.
In this 270 degree immersive show combining art, music, and entertainment; produced by Marco Balich’s ‘Artainment’ company, viewers are taken on a spectacular journey defining the origin of Michelangelo's masterpiece. The Vatican Museums has also contributed to the show in terms of expert advice, ensuring the accuracy of presentation. Voices of big actors like Susan Sarandon and Pierfrancesco Favino, and an original track by legendary musician Sting are just some of the highlights in this 60-minute wide spectacle.
The Story
Follow Michelangelo on a journey through time, beginning from the moment his passion for stone arouse. Michelangelo then was not just a sculptor, but a poet and a painter, because of which he gets delivered the duty of painting the holy walls of the Sistine Chapel. The Sistine Chapel appears to the viewer as it was before it was worked on by Michelangelo, and what then follows is a magical journey retracing the steps of the artist's creative genius, in his attempt to paint the story of The Genesis across the ceilings and walls of the Chapel.
In 1513, a year after the completion of the ceiling fresco, the story goes on to show the Papal Conclave, held in occasion of electing the Pope, taking place in the Sistine Chapel for the very first time. As the Papal Conclave concludes to an end, viewers find themselves in front of the new Pope, Clement VII who orders Michelangelo to paint the fresco on the main wall of The Chapel.
Faced by a daunting challenge, Michelangelo in the pinnacle of his artistic accomplishment paints The Last Judgement.
