Royal Delft was established in 1653, and is currently the last remaining original Delft Blue factory from the 17th century that follows an age-old tradition. Enter this royal company and embark upon an inspirational journey through the world of centuries-old earthenware. While elsewhere, clay is poured into handmade moulds, at Royal Delft, white earthenware is stroked on by paintbrushes. Craftsmen have been creating the iconic Delft Blue for nearly 400 years, creating a collection of antique and modern pieces of Delft Blue earthenware.
Follow the authentic production process in the factory, ending in the showroom where you’ll see hand-painted classic and modern souvenirs. Your handy audio guide will take you step-by-step, navigating your way through the attraction. In 2018, Royal Delft celebrated its 365th anniversary! When you’re done touring the factory and museum, enjoy a cup of coffee or high tea at Brasserie 1653, with views of the beautiful courtyard garden to admire.
