How do we collect reviews?
Alpine lakes, rolling hills, and rugged landscapes await you at the Salzkammergut. It is also one of the most beautiful regions of Austria, and where the country’s royalty used to spend their summers! On your tour, you will get to enjoy a visit to the 'Land of Music' and set sail on a boat cruise (May to October) across the stunning Wolfgang Lake. To begin with, take the scenic route past Lake Fuschl and see the former archbishopric hunting château, which today serves as a luxury hotel. Make your way to St. Gilgen from here. This was where Mozart's mother was born and where his sister Nannerl moved after her marriage. The town also hosts a permanent exhibition about Nannerl Mozart with valuable original exhibits and audio-visual materials that illustrate and depict the life of Mozart’s sister.
Here, at St. Gilgen, hop on a boat that takes you across Lake Wolfgangsee in about 45 minutes. Once you reach, your tour guide will take you into the pilgrimage church with its famous 15th-century gothic winged altarpiece by artist Michael Pacher. (Please note that a visit to the church may unfortunately not be possible if an event or service takes place.) Later, you will get the chance to sip on a coffee and cake in a traditional Kaffeehaus or cafe (not included in the price). The route back to Salzburg takes you past the picturesque Krottensee, Hüttenstein Castle, and Lake Mondsee (Moon Lake). Continue your way back to Salzburg city.
