Historic zoo. Third visit for us. A fine collection of animals, but the cages aren't necessarily up to today's standards. And above all, a huge disappointment: the absence of the pandas, whose enclosure is under construction!

Nothing special. Having troubble seeing animals in the sense that they were nowhere to be seen. The path and the cages are not designed to see animals in their habitat. Except a few specimens where you can have an overview of the cage , the rest were hidden. It seemed that there were more giftshops and restaurants than animals to see. Overall it was ok but nothing special.

We were in Schönbrunn on November 2nd, the zoo was full to bursting as it was still the fall vacations and unfortunately almost none of the restaurants were open! Beer garden closed, stand near the penguins closed, dismantled, stand near the main entrance coming from the palace closed, cleaned up. There were only 2 stands open, 1 pretzel stand and 1 stand where crowds of people were queuing. Or you could go to the restaurant. We then went to the Tiroler Haus restaurant, very unfriendly, prices horrendous and nothing on the plate. I'm not surprised why the families bring everything themselves. And as an Austrian, you are actually 2nd class, they only look at foreigners. Apart from that, we really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, a lot of the attractions were closed due to renovation work and we will definitely be back next year.

We loved the giraffe ❤️ the monkeys were super cute, the penguins, the coalas, the flamingos... We loved that we can encounter with some of the animals! But unfortunately we couldn't enjoy the pandas. Hope that they will come back soon.
