Originally a hunting lodge, Schönbrunn evolved into a magnificent symbol of Habsburg power and elegance.
Schönbrunn means 'beautiful spring', hints at the idyllic natural springs found within the estate.
The Maze, Labyrinth and the Gardens occupy a total of 2700 square meters.
Although boasting 1,441 rooms, only 40 are open for public.
Schonbrunn's expansive gardens and parks, including a zoo cover almost 14 KM of path.

- The last admission to the Schonbrunn Palace is around 45 minutes before closing hours.
- The Schonbrunn Palace Park opens at 6:30 am. You can enter the park free of charge during opening hours.
- The Privy Garden, the Schonbrunn Maze, and the Gloriette viewing terrace opens at 9:30 am.
There is paid parking available right outside the palace and costs 4 Euros per hour. And for people with special needs, there are three parking spaces at the main gate.

Inside the palace you can find the toilets near the ticket desk, inside the Children's museum and on the first floor.
Video and audio guides are also available at the palace on request. Alternatively, you can pre-book your guided tour for a seamless experience.
