One of the highlights of your visit is the Lightning Room, where a high-voltage Tesla coil generates spectacular electrical discharges. Watch 2 million volts of electricity crackle through the air in a live demonstration of lightning and electromagnetism.

Additional Information

Children under 17 years enter free of charge but must be accompanied by a paying adult.
On the first Saturday of every month from 3pm to 4.30pm (excluding school holidays), Scienceworks will operate in low sensory mode.
Loud sound effects and music will be muted, and bright or flashing lights will be dimmed in all galleries included with the museum entry.
Scienceworks is an engaging space, some areas, like the Lightning Room, can be loud. If you or your child are sensitive to noise, headphones can help.
