Diana, our guide, enthusiastically shared her knowledge of the cathedral and the Giralda with us (a small group of 6). Her knowledge of history gave us a better understanding of the evolution of this site, without being too erudite. Don't forget to climb to the top of the Giralda. It's a great viewpoint over Seville. The meeting place was easy to find. It took some time before we went to the cathedral. The tour of the cathedral was good and our host was knowlegable. We felt very rushed going up the tower....only 25 minutes on a hot day for me was very difficult. It was too crowded at the top to see the views.

The cathedral will be closed off to visitors from Dec 4 to Dec 7, 2024 due to a congress. The tour of the cathedral will be restricted to the Eastern third of the church where a temporary exhibition called "Fons Pietatis" will be taking place. The rest of the building, the main chapel, and the Columbus Tomb will also be closed off.
