If you are a thrill seeker looking for something exciting, sign yourself up for this adventurous white water rafting experience on the turbulent waters of Shotover River. Start your experience with a fun drive from Queenstown to the rafting base. You will drive through the narrow, long road of Skippers Canyon with a spectacular view of the rugged cliffs looming on either side.
Adventure plus New Zealand’s scenery
Once you reach the rafting base, you will get into your safety gear and get the safety briefing before hopping on your raft. With your expert rafting guide for company, you will start your whitewater rafting adventure from Deep Creek. Cruise over the peaceful waters of Shotover River as you appreciate the lush greenery on the river bank and the Remarkable range. Who knows, you may spot the New Zealand falcon or paradise shelduck.
Rafting over New Zealand’s popular river
You head over towards the rapids where you will navigate grade 3 to 5 rapids before entering the historic, 550-foot Oxenbridge Tunnel. Once you come out of the tunnel, you will go to the Cascade Rapid to complete your adventure. Enjoy a hot shower at your rafting base before heading back to Queenstown.

These rafting trips operate with a minimum number of people. Guests must reconfirm at least 24 hours prior to departure to ensure their trip will be operating.

Guests under 16 years must be accompanied by a guardian, while rafters under 18 years must have a waiver form signed by a guardian.

The rafts can accommodate six to seven people plus the rafting guide. The operator can accommodate guests traveling with friends or in a group in the same raft.

The operator may cancel trips or substitute another river or section of the river for safety reasons.

Guests must be of moderate fitness and be able to swim 25m without assistance to participate in this experience.
