Take a sightseeing cruise from Albufeira to the Benagil Caves to get away from the tourists on land. Explore a side of the Algarve coastline that is only accessible by boat.
The Cliffs of Algarve
These coastal cliffs are famous for their stunning golden hue. Nature has fashioned some remarkable scenery with epochs of wind, water, and rock. Cruise past and observe beautiful tidal pools and sandy caves. Conveniently explore the many attractions in the region from São Rafael area to Senhora da Rocha área. Watch out for the almost-inaccessible Submarino — a beach that, from land, can only be reached by scaling cliffs! Continue to admire natural formations as you cruise through Gruta do Capitão and Arco do Triunfo. Stop to relax at Marinha beach. Then, head to the highlight of this trip.
The Oasis of Benagil Caves
Benagil cave is one of the Algarve's most spectacular natural attractions, estimated to have formed around 20 million years ago. Considering the limestone cave's size, it's hardly surprising to find a little beach within! The cave's center, dubbed 'the eye', is a gaping abyss due to erosion. During dawn and sunset, the light streaming in through this opening produces a fantastic scene within the cave. On the way back to Albufeira Marina, weather permitting, savor a swim in the ocean.
