Beautiful experience!!! Seeing the sunset from the bell tower is a unique emotion!!! The bad thing that I will never do again is to take the ticket on this site: the ticket fee if you take it on site is 10 € if you take it online to skip the queue, 16 €. I didn't realize this was a "must see" in Venice! Now I tell you GO! The Basilica is breathtaking. Do buy the add on to see the altarpiece.
