Vår resa till Aten var helt underbar. Den enda anledningen till att jag inte har gett den högsta betyg var på grund av den osammanhängande organisationen för funktionshindrade. Avståndet mellan taxistationerna och vagnarna till hissen var för långt för någon med problem att gå att uppnå och även om man hade tillgång till en rullstol är det upp en brant lutning på vacker hal marmor. Att ta sig in på det underbara arkeologiska museet var återigen svårt mellan taxi och dörr. Jag måste säga att alla som vi kom i kontakt med var vänliga och hjälpsamma.Susan

Vi anlände till den tidiga öppningen för 9am och kunde komma in från 8:45 så glad att vi gjorde detta eftersom när vi var redo att ta oss ner var de massor av människor på väg upp. Så glad att vi gjorde resan för att gå runt och se vad som gick före oss.

Bokade en tidig tid kl. 9.00 och det var skönt att komma dit innan folkmassorna, ingen köbildning. Det var tillräckligt svalt för att njuta av platserna trots att det var en solig dag. Det blev upptagen när vi lämnade som bussar anlände. Mycket lättare under fötterna än när jag senast besökte för över 40 år sedan.

Acropolis & Parthenon
The Acropolis is a stunning Athenian temple complex located on a rocky outcrop above the city. Stop by the ruins of legendary structures like the Propylaea, the entrance to the ancient temple of Parthenon. With your audio guide in 3 languages, wander across the once-sacred halls of Athena Nike and the Erechtheion. The Odeon of Herodes Atticus will leave you in awe. This large amphitheater was built in AD 161 by wealthy Roman Herodes Atticus in memory of his wife Regilla and is still used today for music festivals.
