Guiden (er) och busschauffören var alla bra! Chambord var helt fantastiskt, även om själva slottet mestadels är tomt, med undantag för faux hjorthuvuden som representerar Francis I: s historia och jaktförmåga, moderna konstinstallationer och en reproduktion av teatern; det låter dig fokusera på själva byggnaden. Amboise var väldigt coolt, mycket mindre och mer hemtrevligt, med mer i vägen för historiskt berättande i utställningarna jämfört med Chambord, och några exceptionella vyer över Loire; men staden kan vara ännu bättre än slottet. Du kommer inte att bli uttråkad om du hoppar över slottsturen. Personligen var Orléans den enda del jag kunde ha klarat mig utan. Besöket i Orléans fokuserade på två platser: katedralen och Jeanne d'Arcs "hem". Chenonceau Castle
A masterpiece of Renaissance architecture, Chenonceau is the second most-visited castle in France after Versailles, with an annual footfall of 1.3 million visitors. Pick up a multilingual visitor's guide and step inside to explore the Medici Gallery which spans the Cher River, the multitude unique collection of paintings, sculptures, and tapesteries, and the manicured gardens which have been maintained since the bygone years.
Chambord Castle
Built to serve as the king's hunting lodge, Chambord is the biggest castle in the Loire Valley—home to 400 rooms, 365 fireplaces, and da Vinci-inspired double helix staircase.
Amboise Castle
Built on a rocky spur overlooking the Loire River, this castle was a favored royal residence during the French Renaissance. Today, visitors go there not just for the panoramic views of the valley but also to pay homage to da Vinci's tomb which lies in the Chapel of Saint-Hubert.
Clos Luce Castle
Known for being the last residence of Leonardo da Vinci (1516-1519), who arrived at the castle on invitation from King Francis I, Clos Luce is a well-preserved example of Renaissance architecture. Visit to see and learn about da Vinci's many inventions, including flying machines, military equipment, and architectural designs.
Chaumont-sur-Loire Castle
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the castle is most famous for the annual International Garden Festival (Apr-Nov) which sees 30 magnificent gardens created by teams of artists, architects, and designers. Additionally, there are contemporary art exhibitions too which draw a significant crowd.
