Den bästa delen av vår rundtur i Colosseum, Forum och Palatine Hill var definitivt vår reseguide. Hon var kunnig och hade ett bra sätt att leverera sitt budskap, till och med ett litet skämt då och då. Platserna är fantastiskt inspirerande med tanke på deras ålder, konstruktion och syften.

Jag gick på en mycket mysig, privat turné med Marle Robinson, med tre andra turister. Marle var otroligt kunnig och delade fascinerande historier från historien under hela upplevelsen. Hon är väldigt skarp och kvick, med många roliga skämt för att hålla oss engagerade. Samtidigt var hon mycket uppmärksam på våra behov och såg till att vi förblev hydratiserade, aldrig gick för långt ifrån varandra och hade gott om tid att knäppa ett par bilder. Turen gav oss snabbspår till platserna och vi kunde snabbt ta oss igenom platserna på grund av företagets stora storlek. Det är mycket tydligt att vår guide brinner för de ämnen som tas upp under turen, eftersom hon själv är en praktiserande forskare. Denna tur rekommenderas starkt!

Reseledaren Georigo var extremt välinformerad, välorganiserad och resans stjärna. Bokningskontoret, å andra sidan, orsakade fullständigt kaos. Först sköts tiden upp, sedan fick de två killarna som välkomnade oss fel information (de fick veta att vi var en spansk grupp och att våra bokningar inte kunde hittas) och slutligen startade inte turen förrän en timme senare. Vi hade fortfarande ett bra läge, flera andra fick sina tjänster inställda utan anledning och tilldelades helt andra tider.

You will enter the iconic monument from the newly-opened Gladiator's Entrance, giving you a unique vantage point of the Colosseum. This allows you to slip past the long lines at the main entrances and enter from the back. Marvel at the impressive architecture as you walk past the Arena Floor, just like the gladiators who stepped out there for fights to the death. The partial reconstruction of the arena floor gives you a stunning view of the tiered ruins from where up to 80,000 spectators once cheered on for these gory fights.

An expert English-speaking guide will accompany you and regale you with stories about the Colosseum. Varying from exotic staged hunts and mock sea battles, the true stories about this impressive monument are what legends are made of.

What to bring

You must carry a valid ID with you and present it at the time of entry if requested. Should you fail to do so, venue authorities may deny you entry and such instances are not liable for reschedules or refunds.

Unfortunately, the Colosseum Arena Floor is not accessible by wheelchair.

You will be given a brief introduction to the history of the Roman Forum and the most famous monuments before visiting them on your own.

At the Colosseum, please use the priority entrance line on the left for the mandatory security check.

You can only enter on the date and time you choose when booking this experience.

What's not allowed

For safety and security reasons, no large backpacks or pieces of luggage are allowed inside the Colosseum. No storage facility is available.

You can, however, take a baby stroller into the Colosseum with you, should it be necessary.
