As you make your way to the iconic structure, soak in the sights of Grosser Grasbrook, a product of Europe's biggest urban renewal project. You might even spot remnants of the historic Hamburg Free Port, with its unique buildings and container ships.
Inside, a curved escalator takes you up to the Elphi Plaza, an observation deck on the 8th floor. Here, Hamburg stretches out before you. Your English or German-speaking guide will share the Elbphilharmonie's story, from its warehouse beginnings to its rise as a world-class concert hall. If no more Plaza tickets are issued, a suitable alternative date is booked as soon as possible. In exceptional cases, the tour guide may then report on the Elbphilharmonie from outside.
