Laila, vår guide, ville helt klart göra vår resa till Mount Fuji till något att komma ihåg. Hon var mycket välorganiserad och kommunikativ. När jag kände mig bilsjuk frågade hon föraren och ordnade så att jag fick sitta längst fram. Men från beskrivningen av turen förväntade vi oss att få lite information om området, eftersom det såldes som en "guidad tur", men det fick vi tyvärr inte. Vi släpptes av bussen vid de angivna hållplatserna för att utforska på egen hand. Trots detta hade vi en riktigt trevlig upplevelse. Tiden för att utforska vid hållplatserna kunde ha varit lite längre (kanske 1 timme och 15 minuter istället för 1 timme), men vi uppskattade att vi åkte tillbaka relativt tidigt och kom tillbaka i tid.

Lake Kawaguchi and Lake Yamanaka
Post the mountain's visual treat, the tour heads to Lake Kawaguchi, the largest of the renowned Fuji Five Lakes. Known for its mirror-like water reflecting an unobstructed view of Mt. Fuji, the lake is a photographer's paradise. Boat rides, cultural sites, and scenic walks along the shore, subtly narrate the tales of the lake's deep-rooted heritage. The tour's final stop is at the highest of the Fuji Five Lakes, Lake Yamanaka. The lake, also known as 'Swan Lake', offers you a dip into natural hot springs while you bask in the picturesque views of Mt. Fuji and the distant Mt. Hakone. Interestingly, the name 'Swan Lake' originates from the swans seeking warmth during the colder months. Due to weather reasons, we will only go to Mount Fuji 5th station during the itinerary from April 26 to September 30. At other times, we will go to Arakurayama Sengen Park.

On Japanese public holidays or weekends, heavy traffic is common, which may delay the return time beyond 8 pm. This may also affect the time spent at attractions, the order of visits, or result in cancellations.
