Den guidade turen i Pompeji med Vincente var helt enkelt underbar. Han guidade oss genom de fascinerande ruinerna av den antika staden med stor passion och en enorm mängd kunskap. Man kunde känna hans passion för historia i varje förklaring. Vincente lyckades levandegöra en svunnen tid - spännande, begriplig och alltid med ett leende. Efter en kort bilfärd fortsatte vi till Vesuvius. Även här fick vi bra sällskap - reseledaren Mimi trollband oss med spännande fakta om vulkanen. Hennes berättelser var informativa, underhållande och gav oss en bra inblick i regionens natur och historia. När vi nådde toppen belönades vi med en spektakulär utsikt över Neapel - helt enkelt hisnande! En stor komplimang går också till vår busschaufför Gigi. Han körde oss genom snäva kurvor och den ibland utmanande vägtrafiken med absolut lugn, aplomb och en säker körstil. Tack vare honom kände vi oss helt lugna och trygga under hela resan. Our tour guide for Pompeii was great! She gave us so much information and you can tell she had a passion for the site. Merica pur coordinator and guide to the site was fun and kept us all in order. I would definitely recommend this trip.

i liked the guide at Pompeii. He was quite knowledgeable and personable. But the day was pouring rain and it was a bit hard to navégate the streets which were actually flowing creeks. Hard to see much in the rain. I'm going back again tomorrow and hoping for better weather.

You can enjoy transfers from Sorrento on a deluxe air-conditioned bus. The first stop is at the archaeological site of Pompeii. Here you will visit some of the city’s most famous spots, along with a licensed guide. You can see the Civil Forum, which was the center of all trade and administrative activities in the city. Next up is the Temple of Jupiter, with Mt Vesuvius rising in the background. The Via dell’Abbondanza is the main street of ancient Pompeii, and runs east-west through the city. Once buzzing with shops, workshops and restaurants, it was one of the hotspots of the city. You will also get a chance to visit the Forum Baths, the house of the Meander, and the Large Theater of Pompeii.

After about 2.5 hours, you will be taken to the slopes of Mount Vesuvius. From here, you can enjoy a beautiful trek to the edge of the crater, at 1280 meters. Note that the surface is uneven, and that trekking shoes would be ideal. From the top, you can catch panoramic views of Pompeii and the Gulf of Naples.

You will return to Sorrento in the afternoon to complete the trek.

What to bring

Be sure to wear comfortable shoes that are non slippery. The walk to the top of the volcano is a short trek, and trekking shoes are ideal.

Bringing outside food and drinks is allowed.

Photography is allowed.

Full names are mandatory for Pompeii bookings. Double-check the names at checkout for a hassle-free entry. Be sure to bring a valid Photo ID with you to gain entry.
