Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a remarkably well-directed musical that has been brought back from 1990s. It began as a collaboration between musical geniuses Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice and has since been re-imagined for a new production at the London Palladium. This reenactment of the biblical story about the dreamboat Joseph and his uncanny abilities put together by a very colorful ensemble reaches out to the young and old alike. The show amazes with its wonderful sounds and vibrant colors, and it is a fantastic way to spend an evening with your family this summer at the West End.

The Story

The story follows the biblical Joseph in Genesis, re-imagined in a very modern and artful fashion in this West End show. It tells the tale of the charismatic Joseph who was betrayed by his friends and sold into slavery. Now a lowly slave, he eventually manages to get on the good side of the Egyptian noble Potiphar. The situation quickly deteriorates as he ends up in jail after refusing advances from Potiphar’s wife. During his time at the prison, Joseph discovers that he has a unique ability to interpret dreams and eventually this gift gets him in front of the Egyptian Pharaoh. The musical then takes you on a journey of how Joseph is able to fight the famine that threatens to end all civilizations using his gifts and ends up becoming the Pharaoh’s advisor.

With an array of colorful troupes and props, along with the gleeful musical numbers, this is set to be one of the best shows at the West End this summer.
