Portaventura World is home to more than 40 rides and attractions, along with multiple dining options for all age groups. In 2019, it pulled in about 4 million visitors.
  • Tibidabo Amusement Park: Considered to be one of the oldest amusement parks in the world, Tibidabo amusement park was built back in 1899. Choose from more than 25 rides and attractions catered towards all age groups. The highlight here is the Ferris Wheel, which offers sweeping views of the city.
  • Ferrari Land: Dedicated to motorsports champions Ferrari, Ferrari Land is a must-visit for all fans of Formula 1. It is home to Europe's fastest rollercoaster, the Red Force, which travels at 180 km/h in less than 5 seconds! Ride iconic Ferraris here, dine at the Ferrari-themed hotel, and shop for souvenirs.
  • Illa Fantasia Water Park: From wave pools and water slides to rapids, make a massive splash at one of Europe's largest water parks. With Illa Fantastia Water Park Tickets explore over 20 different water slides and 3 different swimming pools for both adults and children alike.

Most theme parks in Barcelona offer great value for money. Considering the sheer variety of rides and attractions available for all age groups, the ticket prices are just right for travelers even on a budget.
There are several benefits of booking your tickets online; enjoy great savings, additional cashback, and flexible cancelation on your experiences. You can also opt for combo tickets which provide access to two or more theme parks for a much lower price than you would spend on a single experience ticket.
Some budget-friendly theme parks are Illa Fantasia Water Park which starts from €10 and Ferrari Land from €22.
There are several theme parks that are perfect for children to have a gala time. Here's a quick look at the top options:
  • PP's Park: This amuseument park will keep children occupied from the second they step in. Kids can jump around on trampolines, zoom around on rollercoasters, enjoy delicious pizzas, and splash around on the water slides.
  • Bubbleparc: If you're looking for a fun space to plan your kid's birthday, Bubbleparc is the right option for you. This theme park has plenty of water-based rides, trampolines, biking zones, bungee jumping, and many more physical activities.
  • Tibidabo Amuseument Park: Soak in the old-school carnival-reminiscent rides here at Tibidabo Amusement Park. From bumper cars and carousels to kid-friendly water coasters and a ferris wheel, this is a great option for a day out with the family.
  • Illa Fantasia Water Park: Which kid does not like to jump into a pool full of cool water? At Illa Fantastia, children are going to love the sheer variety of water-based rides available. It is home to 22 water slides and 3 pools, with a large picnic area and various dining options.
Prepare for thrills and kicks at some of Barcelona's best theme parks. These are the best rides that you must try out:
  • Portaventura World: Dragon Khan and Shambhala in the China zone, Tutukia Splash in Polynesia, and El Diablo in Mexico.
  • Tibidabo Amusement Park: Talaia, Giradabo, Muntanya Russa, and Hotel Krueger.
  • Illa Fantasia Water Park: Aquamania, Kamikaze, Río Salvaje, and Spiral.
The largest theme park in Barcelona is undoubtedly Portaventura Park. It is spread across a massive space of approximately 128.5 acres to accommodate its six different themed zones: Polynesia, Mediterranea, Mexico, China, Far West, and the latest addition on the block, the kid-friendly Sesame Street. Portaventura is home to almost 40 different rides and attractions, which also include 7 thrilling rollercoasters.
From October to March are perhaps the best months to visit if you're looking for pleasant weather and thinner lines outside theme parks in Barcelona. Of these months, you would enjoy smallest crowds during February/March, and October/November. The busiest and hottest months are May to September due to the summer holiday season. Keep in mind that December does get crowded as well due to the holdiays.

An enchanting and inspiring place, it's a shame the mirador was closed for renovation, but the view over Barcelona is great 😊

Ticketing experience was great. After payment the ticket was in my email at no time. Althought there was no queus in front of parks ticket office, it was still good to have the ticket in advance. Later lines got longer. The park's down side was that due to the drought not all the slides were in use. It was also unclear whether there was shuttle bus from Barcelona or not (the bus was there only from De Mar train station to the park entrance). Anyway the park was definately worth visiting!

Portaventura world is great, sadly dragon khan was closed in our day there. We bought fast passes which is absolutely the way to go about your day there if you want to get on more than just 3 rides. Food is really reasonably priced as is merch. Rarer you'd see anything around the park Going for more than €20. They have lots of characters running about the park and you don't have to pay to get photos with them making it great for kids and much better than a certain major park in Paris. The park itself is hands down a 9/10 however you really need to get transfers as the train to portaventura from Barcelona is terrible. It takes 2 and a half hours, it's tiny, cramped and slow. It also only comes every 4 hours. We missed it by a minute so ended up having to take two separate trains and a taxi to get there. It was still worth all that Hassel though.
