Athens for solo travellers

Our tour guide, Maria, was fantastic whom told us great history about the 6 monasteries including the geology of the area. We visited 3 monasteries of which Varlem was the best. She was very passionate and funny. I would highly recommend this tour and having Maria as a guide.

It was one of the best way to explore the city of Athens. The audio guide was good. But the buses end earlier than the provided time. I wish I could enjoy a bit more. Specially the beach line.

Comfortable bus. No-one mentioned wifi on board . Was it available, I wonder? We had to get back at 19:40. I think staying another 10 minutes would have made the sunset complete. Why not give us an extra 10 minutes ? No reason really. The commentaries were minimal. So much so that few even thought of giving the guide a tip.... Anyway, a lovely site, and a lovely evening. Finally, it would have been right to mention that the excursion did not inclde the entrance ticket to the site. It is quite cheap anyway, but I was not expecting to have to queue again. I find the hop on hop off buses very handy when in a new city. I usually go for the 48hour ticket as it's only a bit extra in cost. It's a great way of getting your bearings in a new city. The customer service guy at the Archeological Museum was very helpful - I was waiting about 15 mins for the next bus - it pulled in and back out before I could even board! He contacted the driver as the bus turns near there and escorted me across the road and onto the bus as he had arranged for the driver to pull in.

Food was good, drinks as well. Just wine, soft drinks and water but it's enough if you plan is to enjoy of the view. All staff were amazing. Great service and attitude. Dj was awesome as well.
