Naples for history geeks

We had a great guide but the management kept adding more people to our group . We actually had to wait to ent the site because of issues from the other group members .

Entering the ruins with the on-line purchased tickets was quick, easy, and smooth. Ruins were awesome, as they were on our first visit in 2017.

This was my husband's and my 3rd visit and our 2 hr tour didnt include anything we had ever seen before and I really appreciated her wealth of knowledge. She also had a great sense of humor. We had our 10 year old grandson with us and our guide was so patient in answering all of his questions.

Really enjoyed the day trip to Amalfi. It was well organised, guide was great and got more than I expected from a day trip

Everything was wonderful! The guide was very informative and entertaining. The only thing I would suggest is changing the picture of where to meet in case our others were literal like us. :)

The tour has two lines and the ticket covers both. One scenic tour (B) along the coast and another (B) which covers the historic heart of the city. We were able to see the city in comfort. Enjoyed it very much.

First of all, thank you for this day. Even though it's over 600km from Rome, it was worth every effort. Seeing Pompeii is a highlight. Superbly preserved, you get a wonderful insight into Roman life. Via Appia Antica is an orphan compared to the roads here. The paintings are also very well preserved. The funniest thing we found was the 90 fast food stations for local residents. At first we were worried that we would only see a small corner in the two hours. But our local guide had a great route and we were able to see a lot. Vesuvius was much more stressful afterwards. You are chased up the mountain on a full stomach and have to be back down at a certain time. I can say one thing. We're not the least fit, but it was close. We were two minutes late. One criticism in passing. The restaurant for the toilet break is outrageously overpriced. From time to time the trip feels like a coffee run. But let's put that to one side, you can decide against it and not buy anything. The day was great and we would book it again and again.

Excellent tour guide made it very entertaining while showing the most important parts of the sites. It was a great tour, well worth the money.

Staff was excellent and professional. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. I would have liked to have seen the plaster castings taken of the romans

Plenty of time to explore the site... We hadn't booked lunch or an audioguide, but it was flexible and we could add those extras on the day. Our guide was so friendly and helpful. We loved it!

The entry was very easy and quick. I loved the museum, the Pompeii painting and sculpture and the prehistoric pottery.

The Royal Palace of Naples was amazing. The opulence was almost too much for my eyes, where does one look first. So much to see, one more beautiful than the other. Nice way to spend the afternoon

The setting and the drawings at the start. Shame the Caravaggio's were on tour. Also the signage is not good or interesting enough. More curating please.

Having the opportunity to visit, learn and deepen one's knowledge of local culture with an organized and well-functioning service like Headout's, when one is a traveler in our time, where it is not always and not for everyone easy to carve out time for culture, is a great opportunity. Even more so if the people who accompany and lead these visits are knowledgeable, professional and at the same time passionate about the topics they exhibit. So recognition to the work of the perosne of Headout and specifically many kudos to Carlo Zarone.

Incredible experience. Audio tour on the phone provided was very informative. The digital map was particularly useful. I enjoyed being able to choose my own route and see Pompei at my own pace, with the option to listen to detailed background information at my leisure. Would recommend!

We arrived at the excavations by car and everything was very smooth starting from the parking lot. We did not wait either to get The audio guide or to enter. Very pleasant experience and really interesting excavations. Highly recommended

The reception of the hostesses for the reservation, which had not been transmitted correctly but which was effective. Timetable respected. My advice: Arrive early at Pompei scavi station. To meet at 13:00, take the 11:44 train to Naples.

Absolutely loved everything! The people was so nice and helpful! Being able to explore and see what pompeii looks like know was amazing and unbelievable just a great experience!!

It arrived promptly by email I wasn't however aware that in addition to the tour I would have to buy an entrance ticket. This I feel should have been made clearer The tour leader was very helpful and knowledgeable and made our visit to the museum more enjoyable

Interesting and exciting visit to underground Napili. The other visits were also beautiful...But too bad that many exhibition spaces were closed for maintenance. I am referring in particular to the Capodimonte Museum and the Royal Palace. Convenient for transportation was the help of the red double-decker bus on off (for the best view the blue line, while the red line to the center would have been most useful and quick if there had not been untold traffic on foot and by vehicle. Naples is now at the edge of tourist overflow. Soon it will have to be treated like Venice!).

Very knowledgeable and gritty guides...you can feel passion and motivation! Very interesting places that deserve to be visited! Also for a support to the project of these willing NAPOLETAN* boys/girls.

Our excursion to Vesuvius and Pompeii was well organized and staff were very friendly. No queuing to either attraction and bus drops at convenient locations. Only feedback is the Vesuvius walk is much further than 1km quoted by the guides from drop off and is not the easy walk it's advertised as. Maps of Pompeii were limited in detail - would have preferred a more explicit map and more detailed audio

The tour was straightforward and didn't waste your time by running you through a presentation before or after trying to get you to purchase something. Fabio was very knowledgeable, patient and kind. It rained the day we went but I'd like to say it was more enjoyable that way as it didn't seem very crowded for a Friday. The train was perfect to get to and from as long as you don't mind the 10 minute walks.

The views from the mountain were amazing. The lack of engagement/information/detail by the tour organirer in terms of meeting the guide on the mountain was very disappointing. Essentially u were left to own devices in terms of getting up and down in time and it was tight.. I am glad I did the trip but other trips may b better organised.

Well organized day. The visit with audio guides satisfactory. I recommend entering the code before leaving the office xbecause it may not work and before entering the palace check the app x know how to proceed.

Our guide Luke was wonderful ❤️.... knowledgeable and friendly he revealed curious and funny anecdotes to us!

The whole process was easy, our guide for the day was knowledgeable and lovely and the other guide at Pompeii was awesome too. 😊

The trip went very well. Time on site was minimal, but we were able to get an idea of what these cities were like. The audio guide in Pompeii was not intuitive at all, so I gave up listening to it and concentrated on the visit. Very well organized guide!
