Meat Loaf’s albums sold over 43 million copies worldwide, making it one of the most successful albums in history. The original score was written by Jim Steinman. He was quite well-versed in musical theatre as well and orchestrated the score for the hit musical, Dance of Vampires. 2012 Obie Award winner for Best Director, Jay Scheib, put the work of Steinman and Meat Loaf together in a fast-paced rock musical that managed to sweep audiences right off their feet with its audacious rock soundtracks. Bat Out of Hell has no shortage of honours. It was nominated for 8 Whatsonstage Awards 2017, including the Best New Musical Award.
