Why Watch Pretty Woman
Why Watch Pretty Woman
The film Pretty Woman proved to be the reinvention of a stale genre, entering the world stage at a time when romantic ‘happily ever after’ tales had already been exhaustively explored. Grammy Award-winning singer and composer Bryan Adams has crafted the score of Pretty Woman to perfection, capturing the emotions presented by the characters on stage and bringing them to life with electrifying riffs and memorable lyrics. Directed and choreographed by two-time Tony Award winner, Jerry Mitchell, Pretty Woman is a worthy adaptation of the original film. The show succeeds in telling a classic story with emphatic acting and fabulous music, and is a show you just cannot miss!
The Story
Pretty Woman follows the story of Vivian Ward, a young Hollywood prostitute, who is struggling to find success in a brutally competitive world. She is hired by a wealthy businessman named Edward Lewis to play the role of his girlfriend. It is clear from the very beginning that the two are unlikely soulmates. Songs like “Rodeo Drive” and “Something About Her” subtly bring out the emotional nuances of the musical. Watch the romance bloom as Vivian accompanies Edward to various social gatherings and business meetings as his loyal escort, and is thrust into a world she has never known.

Critics Reviews
“Brought to life by a powerhouse creative team representing the best of music, Hollywood, and Broadway, Pretty Woman: The Musical may just lift your spirits and lighten your heart.”
- Theatremania
“Barks really earns her paycheck on "I Can't Go Back," another hot number on a list of 18 pretty creditable originals, quite varied in style and nary a one from the massive Adams backlist.”
