During your 25-minute cable car ride from Tung Chung to Ngong Ping, you’ll see beautiful sites like Tung Chung Bay, the limitless South China Sea, and the Tian Tan Buddha! Upgrade your cable car to the Crystal Cabin to enjoy privacy during your ride and to view the Ngong Ping plateau from another vantage point - through the glass bottom.

Boat excursions, exploring monasteries, and more!

After an exhilarating ride in the cabin car, unleash your inner explorer for a guided tour of Lantau Island. Embark on a tour with a guide fluent in English/Putonghua/Cantonese as you see multiple attractions on the island. Leave for Tai O, a historic fishing village, and enjoy a relaxing 20-minute boat excursion. Here, you’ll ride through intricate waterways, see traditional stilt houses built by the Tanka people, and get a chance to explore one.

Your next stop is the Po Lin Monastery, home to the famed Tian Tan Buddha. Established in 1906, the Po Lin Monastery is a must-visit for history enthusiasts. Explore the three different hallways – the Hall of Skanda Bodhisattva, the Main Shrine Hall of Buddha, and the Grand Hall of Ten Thousand Buddhas featuring various renditions and sculptures of Buddha. You have the rest of the day to explore Ngong Ping at your own pace before returning to the cable car terminal at 6pm for your trip back to Tung Chung.

Eating, drinking, and smoking are not permitted in the cable car.

This experience is wheelchair and pram/stroller accessible.
Disabled guests can approach the Guest Services Operator for assistance after arriving at the cable car terminal.
Disability-friendly washrooms are available at both the Tung Chung and Ngong Ping cable car terminals.
Your guide dogs are welcome in the cable car.

Additional information

Cable car services can be suspended in case of heavy rains or thunderstorms. Tickets can be exchanged or guests can avail a refund at the cable car terminals.
If cable car services are suspended, the guided tour will also be canceled.
Should the Tai O Boat Excursion service be unavailable, the guest will receive a HK $20 cash voucher that can be used at the Ngong Ping 360 Souvenir Shop.
Children under the age of 12 years must be accompanied by a person aged 15 or above on the cable car.
