On a day of nature’s finest from Hobart, Tasmania, explore the lush Huon Valley, renowned for apple cultivation. Start your day at Tahune Adventures, where an Airwalk takes you on a thrilling journey 40m above the forest floor. Here, you'll be walking among the ancient Huon Pines, some of which are over 2000 years old. The tour also includes a daring traverse on the Swinging Bridges walk, a suspension bridge that hangs a whopping 100m over the Huon River, providing a stunning view of the river and the surrounding forest.

Thermal Pools & Timeless Caves

Unwind in the constant 28°C thermal pool at Hastings Caves, a natural relaxation point before you explore the underworld. A Parks & Wildlife guide will lead you through Newdegate Cave, a dolerite cathedral adorned with stalactites and stalagmites. This 40-million-year-old cave, still growing at a slow pace of one centimeter every 100 years, is Australia's largest tourist-accessible dolerite cave. The return journey to Hobart includes stops at local stalls, where you can sample Tasmania’s diverse produce, including honey, ice creams, berries, apples, and cherries.

Keep in mind outside food, beverages, tripods, and selfie sticks are not allowed inside the caves. Pack wisely!
Safety is a priority. So, this experience is restricted for guests under the age of 8 years.

Additional information

It is recommended to wear comfortable and sturdy shoes such as runners, sneakers, or hiking boots as the Hastings Cave Tour is 45 minutes.
Guests will get an opportunity to buy lunch or snacks from a local bakery at a regional town. Guests with special dietary requirements or other choices may bring their own food. Lunch will be in a picnic area at Hastings Reserve.
