Athens for history geeks

It was easy to book. The cost was great!! The process of scanning tickets was effortless made the entry fast and convenient.

The tour guide Nikki was amazing. She really explained everything well, and helped us see everything and tell us about the history of everything we saw.

I have seen the Acropolis many times online & tv but it cannot be properly appreciated until such a historic site is seen in person, not to mention all the various sites & artifacts on the path up to it. However, nothing prepares you for the sight of the Parthenon! It is truly wonderful & see inspiring! 1 of my friends has travelled far & wide, much more than me, & he actually said, " I think this is the greatest thing I have ever seen!"

The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and engaging for our young girls who were full of questions! She made navigating the busy area easy and enjoyable.

Views at the top of acropolis across Athens. Audio guide easy to download follow the information on the ticket PDF download. The ticket queue was very busy at the entrance, the skip the line queue is also big, but better to wait in one than two We went at 2pm.

The incredible views and the awesome hiking. We had a fantastic tour guide, as well. Definitely worth it! Do not need to purchase the ticket with it, however. It is much cheaper to just buy a ticket for the bus and get the ticket to the site there

The exhibition and museum was exceptional. The audio guide was interesting but hard to find the exhibit being described sometimes.

El viaje fue organizado y salimos a tiempo, con el tiempo suficiente para recorrer el lugar y tomar fotos espectaculares y el tiempo adecuado para ver la puesta de sol.

The redemption point was not accurate, follow the signs on the road. There were some pieces of the museum that were closed which was disappointing, but it was cool to see. We needed less time here than expected because there was not a lot of diversity in what was included in the museum. I am glad we went to see some of the old statues and vases and things, but it was a lot of the same things over and over.

It was a long drive from Athens, but it was worth it. Our tour guide Maria; she was a very good, kind/polite lady. And George the bus driver took us safely/well on the route.

The guide was very knowledgeable, trip was very organised and everything went according to schedule. We had plenty of time for sightseeing and to enjoy the views.

Tour guide was very informative and made the whole experience interesting and interactive. His knowledge was outstanding and his stories relating to pieces of architecture made history more easy to understand to both myself and our children. Thank you for an exciting trip through history.

The ticketing and meeting point was organized. Our tour guide was very informative and professional. I honestly would have preferred to just listen to her lessons first, and then go on my own to the acropolis and museum. It was simply too crowded and too large of a group to be fully engaging. It was challenging to follow the group walking through the immensley crowded acropolis. I think groups could be limited to around 10-12 people for these tours during peak travel season. The lunch break was an hour in a taverna in Plaka with a limited menu, seated with the fellow tour group (by then only around 10 of us were left). The guide was not present. The trip to Cape Sounio was good, it wasn't guided and we were left to walk around the site for an hour or so on our own. The site and view were beautiful. All in all, it was informative and nice to see several sites, however a very long day. If I had to do it over again, I would have gone on my own to the acropolis and museum then taken the smaller tour to Cape Sounio.

Nice place with good exhibitions . Also saw the paintings from temporary exhibition. Cafeteria is peaceful and people Welcome

Tüm deneyim çok iyi planlanmış ve yürütülmüştü, tam olarak istediğimizi ve hatta daha fazlasını aldık! Maria, Meteoras ve tarihi hakkında büyük bilgiye sahip, çok tatlı, harika bir rehberdi. Rehberli tur ile kendimizi keşfetmek için yalnız bırakıldığımız zaman arasındaki denge harikaydı. Öğle yemeği, aralarından seçim yapabileceğiniz birkaç seçenek ile harikaydı. Her şey çok güzeldi, Atina'ya seyahat ediyorlarsa tüm arkadaşlarıma bu tura katılmalarını tavsiye edeceğim :)

Comfortable bus. No-one mentioned wifi on board . Was it available, I wonder? We had to get back at 19:40. I think staying another 10 minutes would have made the sunset complete. Why not give us an extra 10 minutes ? No reason really. The commentaries were minimal. So much so that few even thought of giving the guide a tip.... Anyway, a lovely site, and a lovely evening. Finally, it would have been right to mention that the excursion did not inclde the entrance ticket to the site. It is quite cheap anyway, but I was not expecting to have to queue again. È stata un' esperienza eccezionale nonostante la struttura un po' démodé che risulta spoglia rispetto al modernissimo Museo dell' Acropoli. Ma i pezzi contenuti sono gioielli di inestimabile valore che polarizzano l' attenzione in modo totalizzante.

Awesome but as a tourist who Carrie's coins on them for the bathroom. Lol in this day of cashless transactions it's as antiquated as the ruins

J'ai passé une très bonne journée, et j'ai assisté à un très beau coucher de soleil au cap sounion, sur le temple de posseidon, malgré le fait qu'on a eu un retard de deux heures à cause d'un bus accidenté

Happy did a great job telling us all about the acropolis and the history there. Being able to ask questions and have her as our guide made the tour a much more enjoyable experience.

Information about the places we visited were sufficient without having info overload. Pacing of each places were just right. Very attentive guide and driver.

Anastasia, our tour guide, made this experience awesome! She kept us entertained in the bus with greek mythology and interesting stories for Gods of Olympous. Once at Depli, she shared her valuable knowledge about the historical place and talked to us about the different artifacts at the museum. She also made suggestions on what to eat at Arachova as well as places to visit in Athens and Greek islands.

Our guide was amazing. Her name in English means Countess. She was fun and bright. Delphi was amazing! Great stop for lunch as well.

It was very well organised, the bikes and helmets were in very good condition and our guide Yannis was super; very friendly, knowledgeable - he not only gave us many Athens infos but also wonderful personal tips for our journey later on to Kalamata - and good fun, too! We really had a lovely time and were glad we've decided to see more of Arhens by bike!!

I rated it as good. Nice person took us about hiwever someone passionate about food and willing to impart knowledge about Greek food I would think is best for a food tour.

Was a bit dubious because ticket on phone had no bar code to zap but no problem getting on the bus. We were on the bus very quickly. I enjoyed the heat but not everyone would have been able to. Change over in Athens very quick and we were off on the city tour. Wonderful! We got off at stop 2 to walk back to Parliament building and then walked back to inter change to get bus back to the ship. It was a bit of a wait but were busy talking to people in the queue. There were 4 cruise ships in so was naturally busy. Overall a fantastic tour at a fantastic price, thank you.

The ancient agora is great. Entry was easy with the pre-purchase. But the crowd was small. So, I could have got it at the entrance too.
