The villa was owned by Count Giuseppe Panza and later bequeathed along with his work and the gardens to the FAI, a fund for the protection of Italy's artistic heritage. The villa is home to nearly 150 remarkable contemporary pieces of modern American art from the 20th century. The theme of the artworks revolves around light and color and the villa has become an exhibition venue of admired international prominence.
