A Visit to Chopin's Childhood
Explore the Masovian Country and learn about Frederic Chopin's birthplace on this guided day tour that also offers round-trip transfers from your hotel in Warsaw.
Begin your tour by heading to the town of Zelazowa Wola, the birthplace of Frederic Chopin. The preserved mansion is located on the Utrata River and still houses many valuable memorabilia of the Chopin family including the original piano Playel. If you happen to take this tour on a Sunday (from May to Sep), you could witness a live piano concert. In Brochow, stop by the fortified church where Chopin's parents were married and young Chopin was baptized. The church is an excellent example of ‘defensive’ architecture in Poland.
The Traditional Town of Lowicz
With your guide, continue on to the small town of Lowicz, best known for its triangular Market Square – the only one in Poland. Here, get a glimpse of the traditional ways of life and visit the 17th-century cathedral. Catch sight of locals dressed in traditional attire around town. Around midday, stop for lunch at a local restaurant and enjoy a meal consisting of soup and a main course.
Discover more of the Masovian culture at the Maurzyce Ethnographic Park. See the architectural styles of the schools, stables, and huts typical of 19th-century construction before ending your tour.
