Venture through the heart of Krakow to discover the magnificent residence of Polish kings on Wawel Hill. As you visit the Wawel Royal Castle, imagine what the backstage of the ruler’s lives looked like as you walk through dozens of chambers and halls. Forget your textbook notes and become privy to the secrets and myths of the Castle. You’ll also visit the Wawel Cathedral, a spectacular narrative of Polish history, where all Polish monarchs are buried.
Stop for a traditional Polish lunch with soup and a main course dish. Continue onto Wieliczka, a small town about 10 kilometers from Krakow. Here, one of Europe’s largest ancient salt mines will grab your attention. 340 meters deep, 245 kilometers long, and 700 years old, this salt mine is filled to the brim with stories and facts. You’ll also visit St. Kinga's Church - the patroness of miners on this tour. This underground church is heavily adorned with chandeliers, carvings, sculptures of saints carved out of salt, and more.
