Exploring Campbell Town: From Historic Trails to Nature’s Majesty

Kickstart your adventure from Launceston, venturing through the historic Georgian townships of Evandale and Campbell Town. Pick up your lunch in Campbell Town, home to the unique Convict Brick Trail, a walkable tribute to Tasmania's convict history. Move into the breathtaking Freycinet National Park, greeted by the grandeur of The Hazards mountain range. Embark on a comfortable walk to the Cape Tourville Lighthouse, standing 126 meters above sea level, with a light visible from 28 nautical miles away. Exploring Wineglass Bay: From Lookout to Beach

Venture on a moderately uphill walk to the world-renowned Wineglass Bay Lookout. Known as one of Tasmania’s Great Short Walks, this hour-long trek rewards spectacular views of Wineglass Bay and Freycinet National Park. Interestingly, the bay’s name originates from its whaling past, when waters turned red after a hunt, resembling a glass of red wine! Opt for a return journey with the guide to Honeymoon Bay or challenge yourself with the 2.5-hour Wineglass Bay Beach hike. Finally, round off your day with a visit to the scenic Devil’s Corner Winery. If you like, try local wines and savor delicious food against a magnificent backdrop at your own expense.

What's not allowed

Keep in mind that large bags are not allowed on this experience. Guests are allowed to bring 1 x day pack for the day and must ensure they can load and unload their own luggage onto the vehicle/vehicle trailer.
Safety is a priority. So, this experience is restricted for guests under the age of 8 years.

Additional information

It is recommended to wear comfortable and sturdy shoes such as runners, sneakers, or hiking boots as the walk to Wineglass Bay Lookout is a 3 kilometer loop and takes around 30 to 45 minutes.
Guests will have the opportunity to stop at a local bakery in a regional town enroute to the National Park to purchase lunch or snacks. Guests with special dietary requirements or other choices may bring their own food of choice.
The afternoon stop will be for 30 minutes at Devil’s Corner Winery where guests can enjoy fresh seafood & oysters from Freycinet Marine Farm along with wood-fired pizza, coffee, ice-creams, and wine tasting before driving towards Launceston.
Guests must have a good level of fitness and mobility to participate in this experience.
